Midnight Velvet Spring Review and Giveaway

If you have been following my blog for a while, you may have seen some of my past Midnight Velvet reviews (if you haven't, click here to do so).  Founded in 1987, they bring a fresh perspective to fashion, beauty, and home decor.

One item from Midnight Velvet's spring catalog that really caught my eye was the Geneva Thong by Yellow Box.  I loved the sparkle along the thong and the slight wedge (1"), and thought that it was the perfect sandal for the upcoming summer months!  The shoes are incredibly comfortable and add a fun flair to any outfit.  You could easily wear them to the beach with a summer dress, or dress them up for the office if your workplace is more on the business casual side like mine.

Here's a picture of me wearing the sandals.  Since you obviously can't see them in as much detail in this shot, I made sure to take an up-close photo as well.  They also have a very light snake-print detail along the sides of the strap, which I really like.  I got them in a size 6 and they fit perfectly.  Normally I wear a 5 1/2, so I would recommend buying these a half-size up if you're interested in them as I think they would be a bit too snug in a 5 1/2 (if that size existed).  They are available from size 6 to 11, with some half sizes.

Midnight Velvet Laser Cut Handbag Review and Giveaway!

I reviewed the Padlock Handbag from Midnight Velvet back in July of last year, so when they put out a call for bloggers to work with them for their spring campaign I jumped at the chance!  Midnight Velvet offers a wide range of stylish products, from home decor to clothing, and even mineral makeup!

Midnight Velvet was even kind enough to offer a $50 gift card to one of my readers...more details on that at the end of the review.

I chose to review the Laser Cut Bag, and it is absolutely gorgeous.  It features a rose-gold layer underneath a pattern of floral cutouts, which I think makes it perfect for transitioning from winter to spring.  The black pattern is chic enough for work or play, and the rose-gold backing is just enough shine to match any occasion.  I carried this to work today and received a bunch of compliments on it; people were really impressed by how interesting and classy the design was!

The bag's interior features a zip pocket and two slip pockets.  It also has an outer zip pocket, so there are tons of places to fit your phone, lip gloss, or any other items you need easy access to.  This bag is the perfect size for me -- it measures 12.5" length by 6 3/4" width, and a height of 8.5".  The barrel shape is also convenient for carrying all of my items because it's structured enough to stand upright on its own.  The strap drop is about three inches, but it also comes with a removable shoulder strap so you can easily carry it over your shoulder.

Bottom Line: I would pair this purse with a little black dress for a night out, or a button up and black pants for work.  The quality is excellent and the price is very reasonable.  The Laser Cut Bag from Midnight Velvet is beautiful and would look great on anyone's arm!

Midnight Velvet Padlock Handbag Review and Giveaway [CLOSED]

Midnight Velvet is an online retailer and mail-order catalog that has been in business for more than 25 years.  They offer apparel, jewelry, accessories, mineral makeup, and much more.  I was given the opportunity to review their beautiful Padlock Handbag from their upcoming fall collection!

Midnight Velvet offered me the option of reviewing makeup, apparel, and other items, but I chose to review this handbag because I can never have enough purses!  I'm glad I chose the Padlock Handbag because it is gorgeous.  It retails for $99.95 and comes in a variety of colors, from fall shades to brights.  I liked the black version best because black goes with everything.

It's a larger satchel made with faux leather with gold hardware.  The interior has three pockets -- two on each side that are separated by a middle zip pocket.  There are two interior slip pockets on one side with a zipper pocket on the opposite side.  There is also an exterior zippered pocket on the back of the bag, and you could also slip a cell phone or other items into the front of the bag (the line running horizontal between the two gold handle hardware in the photo above).  I really liked that this handbag had so many compartments.  It also has a handle drop long enough to wear the bag over your shoulder, which is pretty essential to me.

There was a slight hiccup with my order, but Brenda, my contact for this campaign, provided excellent customer service and the issue was quickly resolved.  Not only does Midnight Velvet offer quality products, but this incident showed me how excellent their customer service is as well!
