July Allure Beauty Box Review

The July Allure Beauty Box really knocked it out of the park! They partnered with Huda Kattan and included an exclusive Huda Beauty product, along with five other products that I absolutely adore.

*Disclaimer: This box was purchased by See, Shop, Love! Post contains referral links.

Allure Beauty Box is quickly becoming my favorite beauty subscription. I've only gotten three boxes, but both have been excellent and the spoilers for the next few months look great, too.

The box costs $15 per month for $50 to $90 worth of editor-tested beauty picks. New subscribers will get a bonus full-sized gift and their first box for $10. The current bonus gift is a Laneige Water Bank Moisture Cream and a mystery gift.

The July box featured products from Huda's Huda Beauty line, which I have heard a lot about (obviously) but never tried any products from, so I was excited to give these a try. Each month you'll receive the samples in a reusable pouch.

This month there were six total products. Here's what was inside:
  • Huda Beauty Classic Lash in Samantha ($20, full sized): These lashes are so pretty! They look dramatic but also natural. I have yet to try them on, since I'm going to save them for a special occasion.
  • Huda Beauty Liquid Matte Lipstick in Alluring ($20, full sized): This shade was made exclusively for Allure Beauty Box subscribers and it is gorgeous! It's a universally-flattering orange/red that dries quickly and didn't feel drying on my lips and lasted quite a long time. It's most similar to the Wild Child shade, though a bit darker.
  • Benefit Ka-Brow Cream Gel Brow Color: This was one of three possible samples (the others being a Too Faced Hangover Primer or Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Zero) and I'm glad I got this one. I'm growing my brows in so I need a good product to help fill in the sparse spaces, and this one worked really well. The shade is a little lighter than my natural brow color (perfect), and it stayed in place through my martial arts class.
  •  Tonymoly Intense Care Snail Hydrogel Mask ($10, full sized): I love Tonymoly; they're one of the most popular K-beauty brands, and for good reason. This mask is made with snail mucin, which may sound weird, but it's a potent skincare ingredient that helps hydrate and plump skin.
  • Kayali Vanilla 28: Huda started the Kayali perfume line with her sister and I am in love with this vanilla scent! I've always gravitated towards vanilla notes, and this one combines camber, vanilla orchid, and must for a sweet and sultry scent. I may need to purchase a full-sized bottle.
  • Ouai Texturizing Hair Spray: I've had pretty good luck with Ouai products in the past and I use texture sprays on a regular basis, so I had a feeling this would work well for me. The formula is light and gives a decent amount of texture and volume. It also has the lovely scent that all Ouai products have, which reminds me of summertime.
Bottom Line: I loved every single product in the July Allure Beauty Box! The partnership with Huda Beauty was excellent and I'm glad I was able to receive the exclusive liquid matte shade.

June JoahBox Review

JoahBox is a Korean skincare and beauty subscription that sends everything you need to begin or elevate your K-beauty routine! I received their June box to review and I loved it.

*Disclaimer: This box was sent to See, Shop, Love! in exchange for an honest review.

JoahBox sends five to seven full-sized Korean skincare and makeup products each month worth up to $60 to $100 in retail value. Here are their pricing options:
  • Monthly: $35.95 per month
  • Three Months: $105.95 every three months ($35.31 per moth)
  • One-Time Box: $35.95
Shipping is free worldwide for all of the subscription or one-time purchase options.

I was born in Busan, South Korea so I'm so happy that Korean beauty products have become popular in the States! This box is especially great because everything is full-sized.

The June box had five products inside:
  • The Plant Base Time Stop Collagen Ampoule ($29) - An ampoule is a liquid in a glass container, and this one has a collagen serum inside with 76.53 percent mushroom extract. The ingredients produce anti-aging effects to reduce fine lines and wrinkles. The texture is a bit thick for me, so I would likely use this in the winter when my skin is more dry.
  • RiRe Air-Fit Velvet Lipstick ($17.50) - This red shade is perfect! The velvet matte texture is smooth and doesn't feel heavy on my lips at all. It leaves just enough color that's appropriate for daytime or nighttime looks.
  • Missha Volume Boost Cara ($9) - Subscribers will either receive the Volume Boost mascara like me or the Length Boost. These feature a cute character from the Line brand (I love the bunny on mine!) and had a small pack of stickers inside, too. The mascara itself is lightweight and didn't clump and it made my lashes look thick and volumized!
  •  I'm Sorry for My Skin Galactomyces Drylock Mask ($10) - Sheet masks are pretty much synonymous with K-beauty now, and this one contains 69 percent galactomyces, a type of fungus that nourishes and revitalizes skin. It's used often in Korean and Japanese skincare and is one of the best known and strongest ingredients to strengthen skin.
  • Farm Stay Aloe Vera Moisture Soothing Gel ($3) - This came at the perfect time for me, as I'm having a bit of a battle with bug bites. I put this gel in my fridge for extra cooling action and it feels lovely on my skin. It can be used all over, from the face to body and even on your hair. It's free from mineral oil, artificial pigments, benzophenone, and parabens.

The total retail value for the June JoahBox is $68.50! I think this is a great deal for the price of the box. I love that everything is full-sized and that the box contains a booklet with information on all of the products.
Bottom Line: JoahBox is a great value and is perfect for both K-beauty newbies and veterans. I loved everything in the box!

July Daily Goodie Box Review

Daily Goodie Box is a fun and free way to try new products from a variety of brands. They send deluxe samples and full-sized items in exchange for one or two sentence reviews of each.

*Disclaimer: This box was sent to See, Shop, Love! in exchange for an honest review.

Daily Goodie Box really is entirely free. You'll never be asked for any payment information. Boxes are sent out by availability and are not guaranteed, but you can create an account on their website and interact on social media to increase your chances of getting one (links at the end of this post).

There's always a good variety of product types represented. Samples include everything from beauty and skincare to snacks and household items. Once you've tried everything, simply log back in to your account on the Daily Goodie Box site and leave a sentence or two of your opinions and experiences with the products.

Here's what was inside the July box:
  • Ode to Clean All Purpose Wipes: These wipes are fragrance-free and are made from plants, not petroleum. The ingredients are purified water and plant starch only, for a natural way to refresh your space.
  • Napz All-Natural Sleep Solution: I've used this sleep aid before and it works really well. The supplement is made with 1,110 mg of chamomile, passion flower, lemon balm, and hibiscus to provide a natural, non-habit forming short-term sleep aid.
  • CURAD Quick Stop Bandages: These bandages have a naturally-derived blood stopping agent in the cloth to help stop minor bleeds quickly. I haven't used them on a bleed, but I had a bug big and I placed a bandage over it to keep me from itching and it stayed in place well.
  • Essential Oxygen Organic Brushing Rinse: This organic rinse is step one in a system from Essential Oxygen that works to whiten and brighten teeth. It's a nice and easy way to refresh my mouth and breath on-the-go when I can't brush right away.
  •  Bakery on Main Cranberry Almond Maple Gluten-Free Granola: This granola is kosher and Non-GMO Project verified. It has multigrain bean crisps made with corn, brown rice, ancient grains, navy beans, sweetened dried cranberries, seeds, and nuts with the delicious taste of maple.
  • Spudsy Sweet Potato Puffs: I got the Crunchy Cinnamon flavor, which appears to be called Cinnamon Churro on their website. These are vegan, non-GMO, gluten-free, and free from top 8 allergens.
  • Que Bella Detoxifying Intense Black Peel Off Mask: This is a nice little peel off mask with charcoal powder and Vitamin E to help remove impurities and cleanse skin. I used it on my T-zone and it left my skin feeling matte and clean.
  • Tipson Organic Moringa & Green Tea: This tea has USDA-certified organic moringa, which is rich in vitamins, minerals, and soothing nutrients. The benefits include helping as an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory as well as aiding with blood sugar control.
Bottom Line: As always, I enjoyed sampling the different products featured in the July Daily Goodie Box! I especially liked the Que Bella mask and  Bakery on Main granola.

Nanacoco Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes Review and Coupon

I have used Nanacoco nail polishes before, but I didn't realize what a large line of other makeup and skincare products they have! I tried their Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes; keep reading to hear my thoughts.

*Disclaimer: This product was sent to See, Shop, Love! in exchange for an honest review.

The Nanacoco Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes come in packs of 25 and remove 99.9 percent of all waterproof makeup, oil, and impurities. They're PETA certified cruelty-free and also free from alcohol, parabens, sulfates, and phthalates. The towelettes are made in Korea and contain lotus, peach flower, green tea and rose extracts with a light rose scent.

Here's a look at the ingredients list. The towelettes are made for all skin types, too. I have oily skin that gets especially uncomfortable in the summer humidity, so I like to use makeup removers like these to freshen up in the afternoon.

I don't wear waterproof makeup so I can't comment on how well they remove that, but I will say they removed a majority of my makeup with just a few passes. They're very well-moistened and left my skin feeling fresh, although I will say there seemed to be a bit of residue left over. I may be more sensitive to it because of the humid temperatures, but I think these would feel best with my skin the cooler, less-humid months.
  • Visit Nanacoco to purchase
    • Use coupon code 1FREE to get one free pack of towelettes when you buy two
Bottom Line: Overall, the Nanacoco towelettes did a great job of removing my makeup and leaving my skin feeling soft and moisturized. The light rose scent is a nice touch, and the price is nice and affordable.

KINDri Skin Care Review

KINDri Skin Care uses ingredients from the desert to create truly kind products that strengthen and soothe skin. I tried a few of their products and had great results!

*Disclaimer: These products were sent to See, Shop, Love! in exchange for an honest review.

KINDri was founded by Robin McDonald, a celebrity esthetician, actress, writer, and cactus enthusiast! She is based on Los Angeles and has worked with celebrities like Charlize Theron. Her love of the desert inspired her to create KINDri with components like super collagen stimulating organic prickly pear cactus seed oil, rejuvenating apple stem cells, and cooling aloe vera in the products. The potent cactus oil secretions help increase cellular turnover while strengthening skin.

First up is the Cactus & Rose Illuminating Face Oil. This oil has hydrating organic prickly pear seed (cactus) oil and four percent reparative apple stem cells. It also has rose essential oil, which has anti-inflammatory properties. I used this morning and night after cleansing and it felt so great on my skin. I have oily skin, and although it may seem counterintuitive, face oils are actually great for this skin type because it can help balance out oil production. This oil absorbed quickly and left my skin feeling soothed.

I also tried the Exfoliating Clay Mask (left) and the Cactus & Rose Healing Beauty Balm.

The Clay Mask is a mask/scrub combo that revives dull skin for a healthy, beautiful glow. Unlike other clay masks I've used in the past, this one did not have a tingling sensation, making it great for sensitive skin. I left it on for about 10 minutes and then washed off and my skin felt awesome after! It absorbed oil and other impurities without making my skin feel too dry.

The Cactus & Rose Healing Beauty Balm was my favorite product of the bunch. It smells so good! The scent is light and a bit floral and a bit cool; it perfectly encapsulates what I think of when I think of the desert. It has hydrating organic prickly pear seed (cactus) oil, avocado oil, and shea butter to provide intense hydration for chapped lips, heels, elbows, or anywhere else you need a little boost of moisture. I love using this on my hands. It's a thicker balm, but it does a great job at soothing dry skin.
Bottom Line: I loved the products I tried from KINDri Skin Care! Everything worked wonderfully with my skin and their prices are very reasonable. If you're looking for a natural skincare line to try, I highly recommend this one.

May and June Allure Beauty Box Review

I decided to subscribe to Allure Beauty Box because they ran a promotion for a free full-sized Oribe product with a subscription. I haven't yet received the Oribe (it's shipping separately), but I did get my May and June boxes.

*Disclaimer: This box was purchased by See, Shop, Love! Post contains referral links.

Allure Beauty Box costs $15 per month for $50 to $90 worth of editor-tested beauty picks. New subscribers will get a bonus gift (mine is the Oribe) and their first box for $10.

Boxes contain deluxe samples and full-sized products with a mini-magazine full of tips and step-by-step tutorials for the featured products. Everything also comes in a reusable pouch.

I received my June box before May, so I figured I'd review both of them in one post.

The May box had seven products inside. I'm not a huge fan of the pouches because a few are nice to save for travel, but beyond that, what am I supposed to do with them? I wish boxes would stop sending extra bags and pouches. Either way, I guess I'll see if they're recyclable.

  • St. Tropez Self Tan Purity Bronzing Water Gel and Tan Applicator Mitt - Subscribers received either the Water Gel or the Self Tan Purity Bronzing Water Face Mist. The water gel is an interesting product: it's a liquid-y gel that glides over skin and absorbs quickly. I'm going to give it a try on my arms and legs.
  • LaRitzy Lip Gloss in Vibe - This lip gloss is a pale pink that doesn't work well with my skin tone. Granted, I didn't swatch it, but regardless I have so many lip products that I didn't want to even open this one (that way I could swap it).
  •  Lué by Jean Seo Erase Cleansing, Exfoliating, and Brightening Powder - I'm usually not a fan of powder cleansers (too much of a mess), but this one is nice. It's made with milk powder and oats and when mixed with water becomes a soft paste that unclogs pores and leaves skin feeling soft. My skin felt smooth and clean after using this
  • Amore Pacific Youth Revolution Mask - This is one of four Amore Pacific products subscribers could have received, and I'm glad I got this one. I love Amore Pacific but they're out of my price range, so the only time I get to use them is when I get a sample. This mask is an overnight cream that brightens skin.
  • Laneige Water Bank Moisture Cream - I've used this moisturizer before and it's so nice for summer. It's super light but moisturizes well, with ceramides and sodium hyaluronate to plump skin.
  • Model Co. Eyelites Metallic Eyeshadow in St. Barts - I love this shadow! I'm all for shimmery neutrals/Earth tones. The shade is a bronzy champagne cream that applies easily and smoothly and dries quickly.

The June box had another great assortment, with six products total. This month's pouch was a neon green.

  •  The BrowGal Eyebrow Pencil - This is a full-sized product that retails for $23. I overplucked my eyebrows in high school and am still trying to grow them in, but I need a lot of help in the meantime so I always use brow pencils. This one is great, with a brush on one end and a cap with a sharpener on the other, and it has the perfect consistency to leave natural looking color. Although it works really well, I can't say I'd repurchase for that price, considering I've found similar products for around $5.
  • Context Vitamin C All Day Eye Cream - I just ran out of eye cream so this full-sized one came at the perfect time! It retails for $35 and has a gel consistency, despite the "cream" in the name. I really like the cooling sensation it gives when dabbing it under my eyes.
  • Eau Thermale Avene Thermal Spring Water - Okay, I've never understood the hype behind this product. It's literally a spray can of water. It's thermal spring water from Avene, France, but still -- it's water. I do like these for travel or refreshing my skin in the summer time, but I'd never buy one.
  •  Floss My New Favorite Lip Gloss - This gloss has a thin, lightweight formula (according to the info booklet), but I haven't tried it. It looks like a high quality product, but I have so many lip products already that I think I'll pass this one on to a friend.
  • Moroccanoil Treatment - This oil is perfect for my hair. It's silicone-based so it doesn't leave my hair feeling weighed down or greasy. It has a great scent (warm and spicy) and hydrates my hair and leaves it feeling smooth and soft after blowdrying.
  • SGX The Do-It-All 3-in-1 Dry Texture Spray - I was really excited to try this spray because I used texture sprays all the time and a full-sized can costs only $7, but unfortunately it wasn't quite what I'm looking for. It deposits a lot of product per spray and it ended up being too much for my hair.

Bottom Line: I'm pretty happy with the May and June Allure Beauty Boxes! I'll be able to use most of the products and they sent a lot that were perfect for my needs. I especially love the Moroccanoil and Amore Pacific mask. Hopefully my full-sized Oribe arrives soon, too!
