January Love With Food Review + First Box Free

This was the last month of my Love With Food three-month voucher from Zulily, but I am definitely staying subscribed because I love this box.  I love snacking, but I am trying to be more conscious of what I eat and only reach for healthier snacks when I'm actually hungry.  Love With Food allows me to do that but still have fun with it.

The Love With Food Taster's Box costs $10 a month and is full of organic and all-natural products. The Deluxe Box is $17 a month, and the Gluten-Free Box is $24.50 a month (this review is for the Taster's Box).  For each box sold, they donate a meal to a hungry child in the United States.  I love that this is such a tasty and affordable way to make a donation to someone in need!

  • Big Slice Energy Kettle Cooked Apples - The flavor of these is Raspberry Hibiscus and Green Coffee Extract.  I was the most excited to try these out of all of the other items in the box because I had no idea what "kettle cooked" apples would taste like.  They were amazing!  I loved them so much that I went out to Target the next day to buy more pouches.  A few reviewers weren't keen on the texture, but I liked it and the flavor was just fantastic.  They tasted more like raspberries than apples, and they had a semisoft texture.  They reminded me of how apple chunks feel in homemade applesauce.
  • Britt Dark Chocolate Cacao Nibs - I've had cacao nibs before and they were always too bitter for me, but I inhaled this bag of them!  They were covered in delicious dark chocolate, which made them more palatable for me.
  • Wai Lana Cassava Pops - I've tried other Wai Lana products in the past and they were always delicious, and these chips were no different.  They're made from the cassava plant and are popped, as opposed to being baked or fried.  They had a nice, airy texture and good crunch.
  • Somersault Snack Company Somersaults in Salty Pepper - I've had different flavors of these before, too, and I could just never get into them.  They don't taste bad by any means, but I just don't crave them the way I do other salty snacks.  They're made from sunflower seeds and have a slightly nutty flavor.
  • Alter Eco Velvet Truffle - I thought that this was going to be a dark chocolate truffle but it was actually milk chocolate and I loved it!  It's 99.97% organic with 81% fair-trade certified ingredients.  I want more.
  • Bobalu In-Shell Almonds - I'm not the biggest fan of nuts so I passed these along to my dad to snack on.  They're just standard almonds, no extra flavor, but if you like them I know that they're great to snack on because they help you feel full.
  • Stash Breakfast in Paris Black Tea - Stash makes wonderful teas, and this is a flavor I've never tried before.  It has notes of lavender and bergamot and sounds lovely.
  • Luna Chocolate Dipped Coconut Mini - I hate coconut!  I never want to see coconut in a snack box ever again, but I know that won't happen.  I also don't really care for Luna Bars as a whole, so I didn't try this.
The box also came with a $40 coupon for Hello Fresh, 25% off of Grandma Hoerner's (they make the Big Slice apples), and $15 to Urban Remedy.  I had a bad experience with Hello Fresh so I won't be using that coupon (I posted it for swap if anyone is interested).  I was going to use the Urban Remedy one, but you have to spend at least $50 and I'm not really interested enough in their juices to do that.  I will, however, definitely use the Grandma Hoerner's one!

Bottom Line: This month's box had a total of eight snacks, and I found some new ones that I really loved!  The Big Slice apples were definitely my favorite, but the Velvet Truffle wasn't far behind.  I liked the variety again this month, too.
