Introducing Dot & Bo, Plus $20 Off!

About six months ago I moved out of my parents' house and into my own apartment with Pete.  I was super excited to decorate it, but then I became much less excited about how expensive it really is to decorate an apartment.  I'm quite picky about interior design, so any old pieces won't do.  Luckily, there's Dot & Bo, a home decor site that has tons of great pieces for affordable prices!

The Book-Escape Wall Shelves
Dot & Bo features "inspired design for the modern lifestyle."  I could spend hours looking through their site; they have everything from furniture to wall decor to lighting--pretty much anything you could ever want or need!  They curate fresh collections every day, like the "Rustic Farmhouse Style," which is right up my alley.  There's also a wide range of price points represented, so you can definitely find something to fit whatever budget you're working with.

I chose to review The Grand Optimist Shelf, which is currently sold out but was priced at $39.99 (original retail is $110!).  I loved how modern and interesting it was, and I knew it would fit perfectly in the corner of my apartment leading into the hallway to the bedroom.  I figured it would be a good way to display some of my knick knacks while keeping them off of the limited desk space I have.

The shelf arrived in a standard cardboard box with all the parts separately packaged.  I figured that this would not come pre-assembled, and when I first looked at the instructions (above) I was a little intimidated.  I am not one who regularly engages in DIY projects and I prefer to have instructions with actual words on them.  After I actually looked at the sheet, though, it was pretty easy to assemble.  The actual shelf just got screwed together with a small allen wrench and then the entire thing was hung with two heavier screws.

My only complaint was that the pieces were surrounded by a protective layer of styrofoam that got everywhere when I took them out of the box.  As you can see in the photo above, the styrofoam came apart and got all over the pieces.

Right now I only have this little guy sitting on my new shelf, but that means I can go back to Dot & Bo to order new decorations to fill it!  I think it looks so chic and I was happy with how easy it was to assemble and hang.  I also think that $39.99 is a very fair price point for something like this!
Bottom Line: If you're looking for new decor I highly suggest checking out Dot & Bo.  The sheer number of products alone will ensure that you'll find something you'll like!  They also have fair prices and make it easy to find what you want through their carefully curated collections.
