Beets BLU PagerTag Review

I'll admit I'm a little bit of a forgetful person and I'm always misplacing my phone or my keys. Luckily for me and all of you people out there like me, the Beets BLU PagerTag is a neat little Bluetooth device that solves that problem!

*Disclaimer: This product was sent to See, Shop, Love! in exchange for an honest review.

The PagerTag is about two inches in length and one and a half inches in width and is compatible with iPhone 5, 4S, iPad 3 and later and Android devices. I'm reviewing it for use with my iPhone 5S (Go Cubs!). It's available on Amazon for only $19.10 (and is Prime-eligible), which I think is a very fair and affordable price. You will need to have a smartphone to use it, since it requires the use of an app to operate.

Since the PagerTag is kind of small, I suggest attaching it to whatever you're going to use it with right away. It's almost ready to use right out of the box, all you have to do is insert the included battery.

There is a sheet with minimal instructions included, but I had a hard time figuring out how to pair this to my phone at first. I knew it used Bluetooth, but I couldn't get my phone to recognize the device through the standard iPhone settings page where you normally pair Bluetooth devices. Turns out you actually pair the device to your phone through the PagerTag app, which can be downloaded for free from the App Store.

Here's what the app looks like after you pair the device. When I opened up the app it recognized my PagerTag right away and allowed me to connect to it. You can activate the PagerTag through the above menu and it'll start beeping. There are a few different sound options you can choose from in the settings, but I picked a standard beep. It is loud enough that you could hear it from a room or two away, but I don't think I'd be able to hear it if, say, my keys were upstairs and I was downstairs. I also didn't test out this theory since I live in a one level apartment. I would also assume this has a standard Bluetooth range of 100 meters.
Bottom Line: If you're looking for an affordable tracking device, the Beets BLU Pager Tag is a great option! It works really well and is fairly easy to set up, as long as you know to pair it through the app and not the settings menu on your phone.
