Dear by Renee Purifying Kaolin Mask Review

My skin is an absolute mess in the summer! It's naturally pretty oily, and all the heat and humidity just makes it ten times worse, so I'm always looking for a nice balancing mask. The Dear by Renee Purifying Kaolin Mask is different than any I've ever tried, and in a great way!

This mask is best for combination, oily, and acne-prone skin but is gentle enough for sensitive skin, too. It has volcanic kaolin clay, which is naturally purifying and works to detoxify, filter, and lift impurities from deep within your pores. It's also antiseptic, with calming and healing properties.

The mask also has fruit-based enzymes of pineapple and papaya to enhance skin and improve texture through gentle exfoliation. Salicylic Acid is great for combating blackheads and whiteheads and removing surface oils, while bearberry-derived alpha-arbutin (a glycoside, or compound formed with simple sugar) protects against damage from free radicals and brightens skin.

The mask has an almost yogurt-like texture; it's very smooth and doesn't have any of the coarse grains I've come to associate with clay masks. It also has a delicious fruity scent from the pineapple and papaya, which is great, because if you've ever tried most clay masks you know they don't often smell that nice!

This mask felt so smoothing on my skin. I love relaxing with a good mask during my nightly skincare routine and I highly recommend this one for all skin types, especially oily like mine. It didn't feel heavy and didn't leave a stinging sensation the way some clay masks do, and after removing it my skin felt soft and refreshed.
Bottom Line: The Dear by Renee Purifying Kaolin Mask is a lovely treat! I thoroughly enjoyed how soft it made my skin feel, and it removed excess oil without overly drying.
