Dispatch: On the Run Review - Box 5

Breakout Games is one of the leading escape room companies in the U.S., and they have a fun subscription box called Dispatch for mystery fans to solve at home! The first series is the "On the Run" storyline.

*Disclaimer: This box was sent to See, Shop, Love! in exchange for an honest review.

The On the Run series has 10 boxes total and is the first story you'll receive when you subscribe. Boxes are $24.99 per month with free shipping. I live in New York and $2 was added for tax.

Box Five in this series takes us to Tanzania. Each month you'll receive a box full of interactive clues, including things like handwritten notes, newspaper clippings, and other physical items. All of the clues are really well made and help immerse you in the story.

So far, Dispatch: On the Run has taken us to countries like Australia and Japan. You're following the disappearance of your best friend James, who is sending you these boxes to help clear his name in the murder of his fiancee.

Aside from the paper clues, the Tanzania box features a bag of stones and a mancala board game. As you can see in the photo above, the board has letters scrambled on it. What I really love about the Dispatch boxes is that all the clues are so well thought out and there's always a ton of detail to pay attention to.

There are always a lot of letters, receipts, and other types of paper clues to dig through. This box is great for a rainy day (or any day you just feel like relaxing at home), because it does take some time to dig in to everything. If you're into mysteries and analytical puzzles, you'll love going through the clues each month!
Bottom Line: The Dispatch boxes are so much fun to comb through. They really make you feel like you're the center of this mystery, and I love searching through the clues each month.

October Sock Fancy Review

I know it's still October, but let's be real: the holidays are coming. If you want to get a jump start on your shopping, subscriptions are always a great option, and Sock Fancy is a fun and affordable service for anyone on your list!

*Disclaimer: This box was sent to See, Shop, Love! in exchange for an honest review.

Sock Fancy sends a monthly package of eye-catching socks starting at just $11 per month with free worldwide shipping. You can also gift subscriptions at $19 per month for two pairs of $57 per month for six pairs. Satisfaction is 100 percent guaranteed and you can exchange or cancel at any time.

When you subscribe you'll fill out a quick survey where you can choose men's or women's socks, as well as styles (crew, no show, or a mix) and quantity. You can also choose to pay monthly or up front.

Sock Fancy was launched in 2013 by Stefan Lewinger and Futhum Tewoldeto provide a simple solution to a growing frustration: create comfortable, durable socks that are awesomely-designed and inexpensive.

My package came with a pair of tall socks with a bonus drink holder and Sock Fancy pin. Socks may not seem exciting at first, but I love a good pair of comfy socks with a fun design. I especially like the taller styles with patterns to wear with boots in the fall and winter.

The socks are made with a high quality cotton blend on a 200-count needle machine. They're soft and comfortable and also keep my feet feeling warm, despite the thinner weave. The top portion has a no-slip cuff so the socks don't slide down your calf while walking around. I've been wearing my socks all day today and can attest that they haven't budged!
Bottom Line: Sock Fancy is a fun and affordable way to treat yourself (or someone else) to a great pair of socks! The socks are high quality and keep my feet warm and looking stylish.

Mama June's Southern Treats Review - First Box!

I'm a northerner at heart, but if I know one thing about southerners, it's that they know how to cook! Mama June's Southern Treats is a new subscription box that just launched this month and it features delicious goodies from Mama June.

*Disclaimer: This box was sent to See, Shop, Love! in exchange for an honest review.

Mama June's Southern Treats is from reality star June Shannon of Here Comes Honey Boo Boo and From Not to Hot fame. The box ships quarterly for $34.95 or $119 annually with free shipping to the U.S. The boxes do ship internationally as well with a $15 flat rate shipping fee.

The first box is Georgia themed and has great snacks, ingredients, and a special extra item centered around delicious flavors from Mama June's home state.

The box contained seven snacks, one extra item, and three recipe cards.

Some of the snacks can be eaten on their own, but there are also three recipe cards included that you can use to make other items out of the ingredients. There's also a booklet with information about each item in the box.

  •  Vidalia Sweet Onion Petals - These are delicious! They're a light, crispy snack flavored with real Vidalia sweet onion puree.
  • Bacon's Heir Pork Panko - This breadcrumb replacement is fine and flaky for a crispy finish and pakcs more punch than regular, unseasoned panko.
  • Bacon's Heir Pork Clouds - These are a gourmet take on pork rinds: made with pork skins, olive oil, rock salt, and seasonings in a puffy cloud of crunch.
  •  Southern Treats Peach Crisp Mix - This is one of the ingredients that has a corresponding recipe card. It's June's favorite Southern Peach Crisp Mix made with whole grains and rolled oats.
  • Dillon Candy Pecan Praline Candy - These candies are a Georgia favorite and is made my Georgia-based Dillon Candy. They're loaded with pecans and are super creamy.
  • Southern Treats Peach Tea - This tea is perfect for sipping on the front porch on a hot day, or with a splash of bourbon for a grown-up treat!
  • Byrd's Cookie Company Georgia Peach Cookie - Another peach treat, these cookies are dusted with powdered sugar and have the perfect balance of tangy, ripe Georgia peaches and sweet cream.

The tea is loose-leaf and comes with steeping bags inside.

  •  Southern Treats Dish Towel - This special dish towel is an extra item branded with the Southern Treats logo. It can be used to keep your dishes clean or to line a tea tray with.
You can find more Southern-inspired recipes at the Mama June's Southern Treats blog, which you can read here!
Bottom Line: I really liked the first Mama June's Southern Treats box! It had a bunch of snacks and brands that were new to me, so it was fun being able to try southern staples that aren't readily available here in New York. I also think it's a great deal at only $34.95 per quarter.

September Emma & Chloé Review and Coupon

If you're looking to add unique, beautiful pieces to your jewelry collection, I highly recommend subscribing to Emma & Chloé! They send a handmade piece from an up-and-coming French designer each month, and September's box featured a beautiful ring.

*Disclaimer: This box was sent to See, Shop, Love! in exchange for an honest review. Post contains affiliate links.

Emma & Chloé costs $35 per month on their month-to-month plan for a handmade jewelry item that comes with a certificate of authenticity. You can choose to receive either silver or gold when you sign up. The following pricing options are also available:
  • Three Months: $99 every three months ($33 per month)
  • Six Months: $186 every six months ($31 per month)
  • One Year: $348 annually ($29 per month, equivalent to two free boxes)
You'll also get 20% off everything in the Emma & Chloé shop for the lifetime of your subscription.

The box also contains a gazette that has an interview with the featured designer and other fun articles and photographs of jewelry available in the shop. I love reading through this every month and learning more about the designer and the inspiration behind the jewelry.

The featured designer for September is Sestra Paris. The brand is owned by two sisters who are passionate about gemology and leather goods. The bring together their two interests to create pieces inspired by tribal cultures and art deco architecture.

The Echo Ring (retail value: $99) is so beautiful! I love the color of the blue-green gemstone and the delicate border of gold accents. The piece is named after a nymph and is inspired by Greek mythology. You could easily pair this with a dressed-up date night outfit or a more business professional look for work.

I usually wear a size 6 for rings and this fit really well. I like the pop of color for fall; usually I associate hues like this with summer, but this will be fun to wear around all year!

September's box also contained a special extra item, the Phytojoba Intense Hydrating Brilliance Masque ($45) from Phyto Paris. It's a deeply-hydrating hair mask that enhances shine and weightlessly restores softness and luster to dry hair. This will be a perfect deep conditioner for the upcoming dry winter months.
Bottom Line: The September Emma & Chloé box was wonderful, as always! The Echo Ring is just my style and I will use the Phyto Paris mask for sure.

Introducing: Shero Science Skincare!

Shero Science is a skincare brand that wants to take the confusion out of buying products that work for you, resulting in overspending on items that aren't good fits for your skin. They have products that are tailored to your specific needs and created by dermatologists.

*Disclaimer: Post contains affiliate links.

I will be reviewing two Shero Science products in the coming weeks, but I wanted to do an introductory post first to tell you all about this brand.

Darby Smart surveyed a sample of 5,000 women and found that 87 percent of these women were confused about skincare. Shero Science saw this research and created a smarter and easier way for women to get the right skincare for them from dermatologists.

You can take the Skin IQ survey at the Shero Science website and they'll tailor a set of products for you based on the results. Here are my results:

Based on this, Shero Science recommended their Power Skin Care Routine (1% Nightly Retinol CE Repair, 2-in-1 Pore Purifying Cleansing Gel, No. 1 Sheer Mineral Sunscreen, E.H.F. Moisturizing Cream, and Power-C) or the Basics Skin Care Routine (2-in-1 Pore Purifying Cleansing Gel, No. 1 Sheer Mineral Sunscreen, and E.H.F. Moisturizing Cream). Each product lasts two months. The Power Skin Care Routine costs $59.50 per month and the Basics is $28 per month; both have free shipping. This is a great deal for specialized skincare!

I'm excited to try Shero Skincare and share my results with you. Keep your eyes out for a review post within the next month or so (I'm going to sample the products for at least two weeks to see how they work with my skin), but if you'd like to shop in the meantime, you can do so at the Shero Science website!

October Gramma in a Box Review and Coupon

The October Gramma in a Box is perfectly themed for Halloween! Inside you'll find three cookie/candy crafts that the whole family can do together.

*Disclaimer: This box was sent to See, Shop, Love! in exchange for an honest review.

Gramma in a Box was created by Terry after her grandchildren moved out of state. She wanted to send them cookies and goodies they could do to keep them feeling connecting, and she created the subscription box in order for all families to join in on the fun!

Each box includes supplies for two candy crafts and cookies to frost. The cookies are pre-made and perishable, so be sure to complete your crafts within a week of receiving the box.

Here are the pricing options:
  • Monthly: $20 per month
  • Three Months: $55 every three months (save $5)
  • Six Months: $110 every six months (save $10)
  • 12 Months: $220 every 12 months (save $20)
Shipping is free to the U.S. and taxes are included. If you want to cancel, do so by the 25th of the month.

The first project was Oreo Spiders. How cute are these! The box had four cookies inside, but you had to twist them apart to insert the pretzels and I broke one of them when I did this, so I only made three spiders. All of the crafts are incredibly creative but also simple to complete, so they're great for all ages. This one included melting chocolate discs and then using them to seal the cookies back together and place the googly eyes, in addition to adding the pretzel legs.

The second project was Monster Bark and it used the leftover melting chocolate from project one. This one was super easy; just add in rice krispies to the chocolate, mix together, spread out on the wax paper (included in the box) and add in gummy worms, candy bones, and the leftover eyes from the spiders. It took about five minutes to set and is so fun and colorful!

The third project is always cookies of some sort, and the October theme was, of course, Halloween Cookies. My ghosts lost one of their arms, but the other shapes held up well. The cookies are delicious sugar cookies and the frosting is easily squeezable out of the frosting bags. There are also sets of colorful sprinkles in each box to decorate the cookies.

The opposite side of all of the instruction cards also include ingredients lists for all of the projects, as well as a list of allergens.
Bottom Line: I loved the October Gramma in a Box crafts! They were perfect fits for Halloween and I love the creativity behind all of them. It's even more fun to eat them after you create them!

October Daily Goodie Box Review

Daily Goodie Box is a product-review service that sends entirely free boxes to members in exchange for a few sentences of your honest opinions about the items inside. They always have a good variety of products from really great brands!

*Disclaimer: This box was sent to See, Shop, Love! in exchange for an honest review.

I know it sounds too good to be true, but this box really is 100 percent free! All you have to do is create an account on their website; you'll never be asked for any kind of payment information. Boxes are not guaranteed and are based on availability, but you can increase your chances of getting one by interacting with Daily Goodie Box on social media (links at the end of this post)!

There are always a bunch of different types of products in the Daily Goodie Box. I've seen everything from snacks to beauty items to cleaning supplies. They also do a great job of sending brands I haven't heard of before, so you're likely to find something fun and new. Keep reading to see what was inside of the October box.

  •  Veroni Iron Energy - These are Mike Tyson's brand of energy drinks and they're non-GMO and made with organic ingredients.
  • Gear Beast Smartphone Card Wallet - This wallet came at the perfect time for me. I've grown less and less interested in carrying around a purse, and these stick-on wallets make it easy to carry the essentials. It has an adhesive that sticks to the back of your phone and has three card slots inside. It also doubles as a flip-out stand for the phone.
Bottom Line: I really enjoyed everything in the October Daily Goodie Box! The Gear Beast wallet was the best item for me, but all of the snacks and other fun items are going to be put to good use as well.

October Degusta Box Review and 35% Off

Degsuta Box has rebranded, but only slightly. They're still sending a box packed with full-sized snacks, but now they're going by Degusta Box instead of the old Degustabox.

*Disclaimer: This box was sent to See, Shop, Love! in exchange for an honest review. Post contains affiliate links.

Degusta Box sends nine to 14 full-sized snacks and foods for only $19.99 per month. Shipping is free to the U.S. They also have a U.K. box for those of you on the other side of the pond!

The October box featured 10 brands with 14 total items. My favorite thing about this box is that they send a great variety of foods, sauces, soups, and more for much cheaper than if you bought everything individually at the grocery store. It's always fun to open up and see what's inside!

  • Pirate's Booty ($5.46 for a 12 pack, ~$1.82 for four): I love these snacks; they're made of rice puffs with real aged white cheddar that's baked and not fried. They're light and fluffy and full of flavor.
  • Idahoan Foods Creamy Potato Soup ($2.99) - I love a hearty soup, especially now that it's getting colder out. This one makes restaurant-quality soup and all you have to do is add water.
  •  Tastykate ($1.79 each) - Tastykakes are a regional brand and I know they're popular down in Pennslyvania, but they're sometimes available in stores here in New York and I absolutely love them. The Chocolate Juniors are baked fresh and finished with chocolate icing and the Peanut Butter Kandy Kakes combine a snack-sized vanilla sponge cake with a thick stripe of peanut butter coated in milk chocolate.
  • Garoto ($.80) - This candy bar is a combination of Garoto milk chocolate with a banana filling. Sounds like an interesting but delicious combo!
  • Sixlets ($1.00 each) - Sixlets is another brand that not everyone may know of but that I really like. There's one pack each of the Chewy Fruit Flavored candies and the Original Chocolate candies. Both are gluten- and nut-free.
  • Bahlsen Waffeletten ($3.49) - Oh my, these are so good! They're crumbly to eat so be careful, but the light wafers are dipped in milk chocolate for a perfectly delicious flavor combo.
  • Brown & Haley Sea Salt Caramel Roca ($2.99) - Another great candy featured this month is this pack of buttercrunch coated in California almonds and sea salt. I love salty/sweet candies and these sound wonderful.
  • Bush's Best Sriracha Lime Crisp-Roasted Chickpeas ($3.99) - These high-fiber beans are crisp-roasted and coated in a variety of flavors. I'm going to pack these in my carry-on for my upcoming trip to London.
  •  Welch's Fruit Snacks Superfruit Mix ($2.99) - Who doesn't love fruit snacks? These have pomegranate-passionfruit, starfruit-kiwi, dragonfruit-blackberry, acai-blueberry, and goji-apricot flavors made with real fruit. They're also gluten-free and have no artificial preservatives or colors.
  • SunSpire Peanut Butter Chips ($7.99) - These chips are made with real peanut butter that are perfect for baking or eating straight out of the bag. I'm going to use these in cookies.
The total approximate retail value for the October Degusta Box is $32.64, well over the $19.99 price tag of the box. I was pleased with all of the snacks this month, especially the Sixlets and Pirate's Booty!
Bottom Line: The October Degusta Box had lots of fun treats, with old favorites and new brands for me to try. I love this box and always enjoy the surprises each month!

Sheree Cosmetics New Launches and Review

Sheree Cosmetics is a makeup brand created by Tiffany Sheree Hudson Hermann, a cosmetics lover since the age of six and a certified makeup artist. She wanted to create a cosmetics line that had a luxury feel without an extreme price tag. The result is a fantastic line of color cosmetics!

*Disclaimer: These products were sent to See, Shop, Love! in exchange for an honest review.

Every item from Sheree Cosmetics is cruelty- and paraben-free. They have a fantastic line of Waterproof Liquid Lipsticks that's highly pigmented and transfer-proof. I love liquid lipstick, especially matte ones, so these are perfect for me! The shades above, from top to bottom, are Shannon's Secret, Lady in Red, Glamour Pink, and Berry Sweet.

As you can see from the swatches, these lipsticks really do pack a ton of color! These are from just one swipe of the brush. To apply, add one layer, allow to dry, and reapply if you prefer. I think just one layer is more than enough color, but you can layer on as much as you want. They apply evenly and with a creamy texture and took about 30 seconds to dry on my lips. Like with most matte lipsticks, they did feel a little dryer than normal after drying, but they really do stay put! To remove, an oil-based makeup remover is the most effective.

Sheree Cosmetics also has a brand new line of metallic liquid-to-powder eyeshadows! The Born to Be Iconic Metallics are absolutely gorgeous and are just as highly pigmented as the liquid lipsticks. The shades are, from left to right starting with the top photo: Audrey, Elizabeth, Grace (limited edition), Kate, Gabrielle, Jackie, Marilyn, Bette, and Marie.

I'm obsessed with these shadows! The formula is so silky smooth and the cream application dries to a powder. The application wand is nice and soft, making it easy to apply the shadows. The colors are absolutely gorgeous; I especially love the brown/copper metallics.

They also have a line of 3D Silk Lashes that last up to 40 applications per set. I received the Tiffany and Diane sets and I think both are beautiful. The lashes are long and luxurious but not too outrageous so that they look fake.

Last but not least, Sheree Cosmetics sent me two of their palettes to review. The Fighter Eyeshadow Palette has 12 shades of talc-free eyeshadows for great blendability. The colors are great for day or night looks.

Here are some finger swatches of a few of the eyeshadow shades. The formula was a bit chalky to me, but with more than one layer and brush application I think they would provide great color.

The Born to Sparkle Glitter Palette is a ton of fun! It has 15 shades of pressed glitter that are wet to the touch and apply effortlessly with little to no fallout. They're infused with glue, so you don't have to use separate glue when applying.

To apply, just rub your finger gently atop the shade until it feels damp to activate the glue, then apply to eyelid (or wherever else) using a sweep/tap motion. The top layer of the glitter in the palette will re-seal on its own until you're ready to activate it and use again.

As you can see, these really do transfer well. This was with just one finger swipe. I truly had very little fallout. This palette is perfect for any upcoming Halloween looks you may be planning, or for when you want to add a little sparkle to your look!
Bottom Line: I'm very impressed by the Sheree Cosmetics products I tried. I'm in love with the liquid lipsticks and am pleased with their pigmentation and staying power. The metallic eyeshadows and palettes are gorgeous and fun to play with, and will pair well with the luxurious lashes!
