Dove Exfoliating Body Polish Review

Dove has launched their first line of body scrubs! The Dove Exfoliating Body Polish is available in three scents and is formulated to nourish skin as you exfoliate.

Disclaimer: These products were sent to See, Shop, Love! in exchange for an honest review.

The Dove Exfoliating Body Polishes are formulated with Dove's signature 1/4 moisturizing cream. This is the same cream that is used in their famous bar soap to keep skin from feeling stripped of moisture after use. Hydrated silica works to remove dull, dry skin while the cream keeps skin feeling soft and nourished.

The Crushed Macadamia and Rice Milk has fragrance notes of peach, almond, creamy macadamia, and praline. I pick up on the macadamia and praline notes the most, which makes for a lovely, rich scent.

The Kiwi Seeds and Cool Aloe polish has notes of kiwi fruit, iced alone, and succulent pear. I love kiwi and this one smells sweet and juicy!

The Pomegranate Seeds and Shea Butter polish has notes of tart pomegranate, raspberry, nectarine, and accents of berries. This one is my favorite of the bunch, though they all smell great!

All three of the Exfoliating Body Polishes have a gentle but effective exfoliation. I would recommend using these at least once a week, but I think they're gentle enough that you could use two to three times if you wanted to or had more stubborn dry skin areas.
  • Visit the Dove website to learn more
Bottom Line: At only $5.99 each, these body polishes are an affordable way to get ready for summer weather! Treat yourself to a relaxing bath or shower and use them to scrub away stress and dry skin.

PlateJoy Review and $10 Off Coupon!

If you're running low on inspiration for meal time, PlateJoy is just what you need! This meal planning service is a great way to treat yourself to healthy, balanced meals that taste great. They also have a ton of different options to fit any dietary needs.

*Disclaimer: I received a free trial of the PlateJoy service. Post contains affiliate links.

For only $8 per month, you'll get access to a ton of recipes for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks. PlateJoy also provides all of the ingredients you'll need for your shopping list to make the meals. They do not deliver ingredients, but rather provide you with the recipes and shopping lists. They do offer ingredient delivery through Instant Cart for certain states (see my intro post, link below, for more information on that).

To learn more about how PlateJoy works and their pricing plans, please read my introduction post here.

After you sign up for PlateJoy, you'll fill out an in-depth survey that asks for whom you're cooking, if you have any weight loss goals, what kinds of ingredients you like and don't like, if you have any dietary restrictions, and more. They offer personalized options for paleo, vegetarian, gluten-free, low carb, weight loss, clean eating, kid-friendly, and more!

Once the survey is complete,  you'll be taken to a queue with all of the meals that PlateJoy has picked out for you. From here you'll select which ones you want to add to your menu for that week, and you can also permanently remove any that you definitely do not want to try.

I chose to receive two breakfasts, three lunches, and three dinners. Since I live alone and am only cooking for one, these options also include leftovers for the next day. This is an option you can choose to have or not have.

Here are some of my lunch options. Everything looks so good, and the photography is beautiful! You can also choose to remove any meals that you know for a fact you do not want to try.

Here are some of my dinner options. I like that the recipes include different types of cuisines, like the Thai beef pictured above. I'm not very creative when it comes to cooking, so having all of these great recipes readily available is a lifesaver for me!

My favorite category to choose from was the Snacks and Dessert page! PlateJoy had a good variety of savory and sweet snacks to choose from.

Another nice feature is the Pantry selection. Scroll through the extensive list and choose what you do and do not currently have in your pantry, and PlateJoy will take this into account when creating our shopping list for the meals.

Here's a partial look at what my shopping list was for the meals I chose. I really like that this is so in-depth: instead of just saying "Apples," they also state that Fuji apples are recommended and provide other options in case those aren't available.
Bottom Line: I'm really excited to try all of my PlateJoy meals for the month! I have to admit that I am not always the healthiest eater, but all of these recipes look so good and are better for me than reaching for fast food. I do enjoy cooking and PlateJoy has given me everything I need to get back on track.

Hairdo Extensions Review

I've had my hair short for a few years now and I love it, but every once in a while I think about buying extensions just to mix things up. I tried the Hairdo extensions and learned a lot from the experience. Read on to see how it went!

*Disclaimer: These products were sent to See, Shop, Love! in exchange for an honest review.

Hairdo offers clip in extensions, ponytails, wigs, and more for an easy way to change up your hair without long-term commitment. I tried the X-Long 22" Curly Extension, Hoop Invisible Extension, and Color 18" Human Hair Highlight Extension.

The Color 18" Human Hair Highlight Extension is a small clip in piece that adds an accent of color. It's best demonstrated by the model in the photos above, as you can see the blond blends into her natural hair.

I received the shade R4/Midnight Brown, which is pretty similar to my natural hair color. I think these are a lot of fun and a great way to add highlights without committing to color at the salon. It's made with 100% human hair and is great quality.

As you can see, this doesn't really work with short hair, but I didn't expect it to. This is definitely a piece for someone who already has long hair but wants to add highlights or lowlights. I also wanted to post this one first because this shot clearly shows the length of my natural hair.

I was hoping that the Hoop Invisible Extension would work the best with my hair, but unfortunately the thickness doesn't match. I tried the R4/Midnight Brown shade, which matched my natural color pretty well. It's made with Tru2Life heat-friendly synthetic hair that can be flat ironed, curled, and blown out. The hair feels very soft and looks like human hair.

This one is really easy to put in. There are two methods provided on the info card, and I chose to clip up some of my hair and then place the hoop around the clipped up part, then as you take down the rest of your hair you can blend it into the extension.

This one didn't exactly work with my current cut, as you can see above. This was just me putting it on quickly, but I think I could take it to my stylist and see if she has any tips on how to wear it better (or maybe she can trim it to fit my cut better). As is, I think it would work best with someone who already has at least shoulder-length hair and is looking to add thickness.

The X-Long 22" Curly Extension ended up working best straight out of the box. I tried the R6 Dark Chocolate shade and it matched pretty well, though it isn't exact (but that can always be fixed with a little dye). It's made with Tru2Life synthetic hair and comes already curled. This is a clip-in extension.

I think this piece has the most potential to work with my hair. It doesn't look like it in the photo, but I have it clipped in pretty close to the top of my scalp, but my cut is still pretty off-balance. Again, I'm going to take this to my stylist and I'm sure she'll be able to help me style it/wear it better.
  • Visit the Hairdo website to browse their full line
Bottom Line: The Hairdo extensions are a lot of fun and are a great way to add volume to your hair or quickly change your style. I think the pieces I tried work best with people who have hair a little bit longer than mine, but I could see these working if I bought more than once piece to layer in with my cut. Both the synthetic and natural hair were great quality, and each came with care instructions on how to keep it looking its best.

April Degustabox Review

Degustabox is a must-have subscription for any snack lover! They send full-sized items from a bunch of different brands to help keep your pantry stocked and your snack time exciting.

*Disclaimer: This box was sent to See, Shop, Love! in exchange for an honest review.

Degustabox sends nine to 14 full-sized items each month for only $19.99 with free shipping. The assortment can include chips, candies, sauces, and more!

You can earn points by reviewing each of the items in your box at the Degustabox site and by referring friends. Once you have enough points you can exchange them for a free box.

The April box theme is Roadtrip. There were 16 individual items this month from 11 brands.

  • Goya Plantain Chips ($1.99) - Plantains chips are crunchy like potato chips but have a flavor that is a little bit nuttier. I like these because they're low in sodium and have great crunch.
  • Angie's BOOMCHICKAPOP ($3.49 for a grocery bag) - The Cheddar Cheese popcorn flavor is so good! It has a really bold cheddar flavor. The Real Butter Popcorn is also delicious.
  •  Amazin' Raisins (~$1.20 per pack) - These raisins are all-natural flavor-infused raisins with no added sugar. They're also gluten-free, vegan, certified kosher, and free from peanuts and tree nuts. They're available in seven flavors, and I received strawberry and lemon. They tasted great and were like eating a pack of fruit snacks, except much healthier.
  • Fini Sweets Shock Tongues Chewy Candy, Kollisions Chewy Candy, and Fizzy Chewy Candy ($1.09 each) - Fini is the #1 candy brand in Spain and is now available in the U.S.! I really liked all of these candies, especially the Fizzy Chews, which are gummy straws with a fizzy powder on the outside. The Shock Tongues are sour gummy strips, and the Kollisions are gummies filled with creme candy.
  •  Zeigler's Apple Berry Carrot Fruit and Veggie Juice Blend ($3.99) - This juice is blended with fruits and veggies to make it easy to get your daily serving of both. I haven't tried this yet, but the apple/berry flavor sounds good.
  • ALO Spring ($1.99) - I've had the ALO brand aloe vera juices before and they're very good. They're sweeter than I expected and are made with real aloe vera juice and pulp. This one is blended with cranberry, mulberry, and blueberry juices.
  • La Tortilla Factory Tortillas and Barbacoa Mix ($3.19) - The handmade tortillas are non-GMO and have 14 grams of whole grain with no bad fats. The slow cooker barbacoa sauce is also non-GMO and gluten-free. It's usually made with beef, but I used it with chicken and it was so good--tons of flavor!
  •  popchips nutter puffs ($1.49 each) - These are a new snack from popchips and they're really interesting. They're shaped like cheese puffs but obviously have a sweeter peanut butter flavor.
  • Country Archer Jerky Co ($2.99) - The Mango Habanero flavor is made with 100% grass-fed beef jerky and has a nice spicy/sweet taste.
  • Torie and Howard Chewie Fruities ($1.99) - I love Torie and Howard candies! The chewy fruits are really juicy. They're non-GMO, organic, and kosher and also gluten-free.
Bottom Line: The April Degustabox had an approximate retail value of  $27.08. I thought this was one of the best boxes yet, with a great variety of foods to try. I especially enjoyed the Torie and Howard candies and the La Tortilla Factory barbacoa mix.

March Fit Snack Review

Fit Snack is more than just a snack subscription. They send a box full of healthy snacks, but they also include workouts and music for an overall fitness experience!

*Disclaimer: This box was sent to See, Shop, Love! in exchange for an honest review.

Each month, Fit Snack will send you a package of delicious and healthy products, including snacks that contain at least two of the following per item: non-GMO, high in protein, low in sugar, gluten free, organic, raw, vegan, and all natural. They also include bonus items, like nutritional supplements and refreshing beverages. Boxes also can contain exclusive workouts, workout gear, or other active lifestyle items.

Fit Snack has four payment options:
  • Monthly: $19.90 + $7 shipping per month, for a total of $26.90
  • Three Months: $18.90 + $7 shipping per month, for a total of $77.70 every three months
  • Six Months: $17.90 + $7 shipping per month, for a total of $149.40 every six months
    • You'll also receive a free Humble Brush toothbrush with this plan
  • Yearly: $16.90 + $7 shipping per month, for a total of $286.80 every 12 months
    • You'll also receive a Humble Brush toothbrush, water bottle, and surprise Mini item with this plan

I am always snacking throughout the day and it's easy to reach for something like chips or sugary sweets. Fit Snack provides snacks that still taste great but are better for you. Here's what was inside March's box:

  • Sensible Foods Roasted Edamame - I love edamame beans! I've never had them crunch dried, only steamed, but these were really good and a nice alternative to chips. They're all natural and packed with protein.
  • Numa Foods Milk Chews - These are all-natural milk-based chews infused with peanuts, dried cranberries, and handmade non-GMO, gluten-free ingredients.
  • Pop Zero Healthy Popcorn - This is a healthier popcorn with no saturated fat or trans fat. I have to say, it's not nearly as good as movie theater popcorn, but I didn't expect it to be.
  • Vahdam Teas - This pack has two teas (see photo below) that are processed, cleaned, and packaged at the source to ensure freshness. They're non-fermented and non-oxidized and thus contain the highest amount of antioxidants and flavonoids.

The teas I received are Sweet Himalayan Detox Green Tea and Himalayan Organic Green Tea.

  •  Go Girl Energy Drink - This is made with yerba mate tea and organic agave nectar, with a fresh peach flavor. I usually don't drink energy drinks, but I like that this one is made with tea and not a bunch of sugar and artificial ingredients.
  • Sahale Snacks Pomegrate Vanilla Flavored Cashews - These are so good! Usually I only think of nuts with savory flavors, but the pomegranate vanilla is wonderful.
  • Skratch Labs Hydration Drink Mix - This is a great little on-the-go sports drink. It has real ingredients and double the electrolytes of traditional sports drinks.
  • Just the Cheese Classic White Cheddar Cheese - These minis are low-carb bites made with all-natural Wisconsin cheese. They're crunchy and delicious!

The informational card lists all of the products and also has as workout on the other side.
Bottom Line: Fit Snack is a great subscription for anyone interested in a healthier lifestyle! I like that they send a box full of great snacks but also include workouts and other bonus items to make it a more well-rounded experience.

April Daily Goodie Box Review

Daily Goodie Box sends a completely free box full of samples in exchange for your reviews of the products inside. They always have a good mix of practical household items, fun snacks, and more!

*Disclaimer: This box was sent to See, Shop, Love! in exchange for an honest review.

Daily Goodie Box really is 100% free and is a fun way to discover new products. All you have to do is make an account at their website. Boxes are not guaranteed and are based on availability, but you can increase your chances by interacting with them on social media (links at the end of this post).

The boxes are always packed with deluxe samples and full-sized products. They send a good mix of all different lifestyle items, including snacks, supplements, beauty, and more!

Here's what was inside the April Daily Goodie Box:
  • Prince and Spring Fruitmojis - I won't lie, it was a little weird eating a fruit gummy shaped like the poop emoji. But these are really cute and would be a great addition to a child's lunch, or an adult's!
  • Flathau's Fine Foods Cinnamon Snaps - I love these. They're these little crunchy shortbread cookies that are covered in cinnamon sugar dust. A little messy to eat, but totally delicious.
  • RawRev Chunky Peanut Butter Chocolate Bar - This bar is made with plant-based protein and is vegan, gluten-free, kosher, and USDA organic. I haven't tried it yet, but it sounds really good.
  • Real Chemistry Fresh Start Foaming Cleanser -  I was so excited to see this in the box! I love Real Chemistry's face and body peels but I had never tried their face washes. This one foams up really well and left my skin feeling deep cleaned.
  • Good Karma Dairy Free Flaxmilk - I got the Vanilla flavor. I don't have any dietary restrictions on dairy so I usually don't buy dairy-free products, but I'm certainly open to trying them. This has Omega-3 fatty acids and protein and is certified vegan and non-GMO. It's free from dairy, nuts, and soy.
  • DayClear Allergy Relief - This a fast-acting, one dose allergy relief supplement. It provides temporary relief from sneezing, runny nose, watery eyes, itchy nose and throat, and cough. I always get bad allergies around this time of year, so this will come in handy.
  • Foods Alive Himalayan Pink Salt -  This is 100% pure salt from the Himalayan mountain range. It's stone ground and can be used in all kinds of different recipes.
  • 4th and Heart Madagascar Vanilla Bean Ghee Butter - I've never cooked with ghee but I've heard a lot of good things about it. It's made of sun dried vanilla beans that are 100% fair trade certified. It's also non-GMO and certified gluten free. Ghee is clarified butter made from the milk of a buffalo or cow that's commonly used in South Asian cuisine.
  • Loaf Slime Lavender Aromatherapy - I guess slime is having a moment! I recently learned it's become really popular as a stress-relieving activity. This one has a lovely lavender scent.
  • Goodwipes for Gals - These are individually-wrapped wet wipes specially designed for a woman's body. They have a gentle, pH-balanced formula that will help you stay fresh and clean.

Here's a close up of the slime. It's pretty sticky; when I used it I felt like I was playing with chewing gum between my hands. A little bit gets stuck to your hands after, but nothing that warm soap and water couldn't wash away.
Bottom Line: Be sure to make an account at Daily Goodie Box! Their boxes are a ton of fun to open and all you have to do in return is leave a few sentence reviews for each of the products inside. The April box had a lot of yummy snacks and fun new items to try.

March My Jewelry Box Review

My Jewelry Box is a new subscription that just launched at the end of March. Their team has been designing and selling jewelry for decades and make everything in-house or buy it factory direct, meaning high quality, affordable pieces for you!

*Disclaimer: This box was sent to See, Shop, Love! in exchange for an honest review.

My Jewelry Box sends for three to five beautiful jewelry pieces with Swarovski crystals, cubic zirconia, and rhinestones. The box ships on the first of each month. Here are the pricing options:
  • Monthly: $29 per month
  • Three Months: $26 per month
  • Six Months: $23 per month
Shipping is free to all U.S. addresses, $12 to Canada, and $25 to all other international addresses.

Even though the box is priced low, all of the items have a high quality guarantee. It's unlikely that you'll experience tarnishing, improperly set stones, or metals that irritate with their pieces, but if you do they'll repair or replace the piece within 90 days of purchase.

Another way they keep the cost of the box low is with no-frills packaging. The box is a simple brown cardboard box and the jewelry is protected in drawstring bags with sparkly tinsel padding. I don't mind simple packaging at all, since in the end I'm just going to recycle the box anyway.

March is the very first My Jewelry Box and it had four pairs of earrings. You'll usually receive earrings with this subscription, but they will occasionally send a bracelet or necklace.

I liked the variety of styles represented in this box. My Jewelry Box is great for anyone who wants to add sparkle to their wardrobe, since most of the pieces will have some sort of crystal or rhinestone embellishment. As you can see from the earrings in the first box, they have a good assortment of sizes, styles, and colors.

If you don't want to subscribe you can also purchase pieces individually in the My Jewelry Box online store. It's a better value to subscribe, though. Here's more info on the earrings they sent this month:
  • Round Crystal Cluster Earrings ($28): Swarovski crystals, non-tarnishing silver plate, hypoallergenic surgical steel post
  • Multistone Crystal Earrings ($42): Gold plate or non-tarnishing rhodium plate (I got the rhodium base) over base metal with hypoallergenic post.
  • CZ Stud Earrings ($16) - Non-tarnishing rhodium plate, cubic zirconia, hypoallergenic titanium post
  • Gold Linear Drop Earrings ($12) - I couldn't find these on the online store page but the back sticker says the retail value. They have a gold plate with hypoallergenic post.
I love the gold drops and CZ studs the most. The Round Crystal Clusters and Multistone Crystals are also great and I'd definitely wear them out to a classy event!
Bottom Line: My Jewelry Box is a great way to add some sparkle to your jewelry collection. Keep in mind that they send mostly earrings (so if you don't have pierced ears, this probably isn't for you), but if you want an affordable way to treat yourself to high quality jewelry, this is a great box!

Bump eRaiser Skincare Review

Ingrown hairs are not glamorous or fun to talk about, but they happen -- and when they do, they're incredibly annoying and can be painful! The Bump eRaiser line of skincare works to prevent and soothe ingrown hairs, read on to learn more!

*Disclaimer: These products were sent to See, Shop, Love! in exchange for an honest review.

Bump eRaiser is an Australian company and their products are available in the U.S. from sites like Amazon and Jet (view the full list of stockists here). They have a full line of serums, creams, and washes that help prevent ingrown hairs and eliminate ones that you already have. All of the products are vegan, too.

Ingrown hairs can happen any time following hair removal. They're a result of hair getting trapped under the skin and causing a bump called a papule. If you've ever experienced them, you know how irritating they can be. Itching, redness, and pain can all occur if the ingrowns are left untreated.

The Bump eRaiser Zesty Antibacterial Wash has tea tree oil, a natural antiseptic, and orange oil to help purify and smooth skin. The tea tree oil helps reduce ingrown hairs and irritation associated with them. It can be used before and after all types of hair removal.

The Cool Splash is a refreshing solution made to cool and soothe irritated skin after shaving, electrolysis, or laser treatments. It helps soothe shaving rash and prevent ingrown hairs from developing. It's formulated with natural fruit acids that also help soothe and reduce redness. It's ideal for use on the face, neck, and chest but is suitable for all parts of the body.

The Triple Action Lotion is a great 3-in-1 treatment that weakens already exposed hair follices to help slow hair growth. Regular use can lead to thinner, finer hairs; therefore, minimizing discomfort with hair removal and reducing the occurrence of ingrown hairs. It's ideal for coarse, strong hair on all parts of the body.

The Medi Paste is a highly concentrated spot treatment that helps eliminate ingrown hairs, razor bumps, and pimples. It reduces redness and swelling while preventing infection and is scientifically formulated with tea tree oil and Vitamin A to rapidly draw out infection. It's gentle on the skin and is suitable for all areas of the body.

The Concentrated Serum Spray is formulated with natural fruit acids to help reduce ingrown hairs by gently exfoliating the skin. It can also soothe rashes from already developed ingrown hairs. Use this spray on all areas of the body after showering or as needed. Check with your doctor before using if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Bottom Line: The Bump eRaiser line has a great assortment of products to help treat and prevent ingrown hairs. I luckily do not get ingrown hairs often so I can't comment on how quickly they healed them (as I did not have any to test the products on while reviewing), but the products are great and effective to use as preventive care, too.
