August Kid Wonder Review and Coupon

Kid Wonder is a box full of crafts and fun activities to encourage children to learn through play! Each month you'll receive a box full of imagination to help busy parents grow creativity in their kids.

*Disclaimer: This box was sent to See, Shop, Love! in exchange for an honest review.

Kid Wonder was created by two moms, Christina Lantsman and Amber Furlong, who wanted to provide families an affordable and meaningful way to take a break from TV, phone, and computer screen time by offering a carefully and thoughtfully curated subscription box.

Currently they have a Little Dreamers box for children ages 3-6, and there's also a siblings option that contains enough supplies for two kids. They also have a Big Adventurer's Box (ages 5-8) with adventures through history and a Junior Explorers Box (ages 7-10) with world explorations in the works. Here are their pricing options for the Little Dreamers Box:
  • Monthly: $24.95 per month / $39.95 for siblings
  • Three Months: $74.85 every three months / $119.85 for siblings
  • Six Months: $149.70 every six months / $239.70 for siblings
  • 12 Months: $274.45 every 12 months / $439.45 for siblings
The three-, six-, and 12-month options are a one-time prepay with the option of auto-renewing available at checkout. The monthly option auto-renews each month until you cancel.

Shipping is $5 flat rate to U.S. addresses, $15 to Canada, and $20 to the U.K.

This is a review for the Pirates and Mermaids box! The theme changes each month, and next month is about wilderness exploration. Inside is a booklet with brightly colored activities and stories for kids to practice reading.

The box had five activities inside, ranging in difficulty, messiness, and time involved. None of them are too laborious, considering they're made for children aged 3-6, but I like that they clearly mark the effort involved so parents know what they're getting into. All of the activities should be done with parent supervision, also.

The first activity is Dress Like a Pirate and it has lots of feathers and foam cutouts that you can use to create a cute little pirate costume. There are also inserts with each craft that have other quick activities on them.

Activity two is An Arrr-mazing Show! and is the least messy, difficult, and time-consuming of all of the crafts. It includes two spoons that you can decorate with foam attachments to create two little puppets, and there's also a mini stage to put together.

Next up is a Treasure Hunt, which is exactly what it sounds like. There are mini instruction cards (pictured middle left above) for parents, plus a certificate and treasure map for the kids. The treasure came in a little drawstring pouch (pictured middle right).

The fourth activity is Pirate's Booty Slime, which I attempted to do myself and it went horribly wrong. I don't have kids but I still wanted to try out at least one of the activities for this review so that I could relay my experiences. I'm not sure where I went wrong, but my slime was not really malleable, it ended up kind of just being a big sloppy mess. This is not a criticism of the actual activity -- I think I just did it wrong and didn't spend enough time mixing the ingredients, so it didn't form well. But this was definitely the messiest activity in the box, so be sure to have lots of space and towels available to clean up messy hands!

The final activity is Design a Pirate Ship! and it is the most time-consuming of the five. There are little wooden pieces to put together, along with other paper activities of kids to complete.
Bottom Line: I think Kid Wonder is a great box for parents/guardians and kids! I can't believe it's only $24.95 for all of these crafts. Everything was high-quality and had great detail. I know I would have loved getting a box like this when I was a kid. I especially like that each box is themed and has other activities and reading practice for kids to go along with the hands-on crafts!

Summer Walmart Beauty Box Review

If you're looking to start exploring the world of beauty boxes, the Walmart Beauty Box is a great place to begin! It's affordable and a fun way to discover new products.

*Disclaimer: This box was sent to See, Shop, Love! in exchange for an honest review.

The Walmart Beauty Box costs is released quarterly and inside you'll find samples of products available at Walmart and Walmart.com. The box is technically free, all you have to pay is a $5 shipping fee. However you look at the price, it's still a great deal for a beauty box.

When you subscribe you'll complete a short survey about your beauty preferences, including things like your makeup style and skincare concerns and hair type and styling. Walmart will do their best to tailor samples to your interests and needs.

The box has really pretty packaging. The box itself is sturdy and is lined with a pretty tissue paper insert to protect the samples.

This quarter's box had six samples inside. A lot of them are foil packets, but I don't mind considering that the box is free. All of the samples are a decent size and you'll definitely be able to get more than one use out of them to decide if you want to purchase full-sized versions at Walmart.

  • Garnier Fructis Damage Repairing Treat 1 Minute Hair Mask - I've seen advertisements for these masks and wanted to give them a try, so I'm glad this is included. This one has papaya extract and will be perfect for my hair, since I heat style every day.
  • Soo Ae Donkey Milk Skin Gel Mask - Soo Ae's masks use traditional fabric sheet masks with hydrogel technology to deliver donkey milk and other ingredients for soft, hydrated skin. I've used a donkey milk lotion in the past that I loved so I'm excited to try this.
  • Rembrandt 3 Day Whitening Boost Kit - This has six teeth whitening strips (three upper, three lower) inside that have enamel-safe ingredients to help whiten teeth in only three days. I hope these work well for me, since I have been looking for effective teeth whitening products lately.
  •  Garnier Fructis Soothing 3-in-1 Mostuirizer Day/Night Mask - This mask is made with rose water and has no mineral oil, parabens, silicones, or dyes. Originally I thought this was a hair mask like the previous packet, but it's actually for the face. It sounds really soothing.
  • Kleenex Wet Wipes - These might not be the most exciting product but they're super convenient for me. I like to keep wet wipes on hand in case of any spills or other random messes. They're made for use on the hands and face.
  • Garnier Whole Blends Gentle Shampoo and Gentle Conditioner - This has soothing oat milk and rice cream extracts to nourish hair. I know oats are great on sensitive skin, so I'm curious to see how well this works on my hair.

Bottom Line: I think the Walmart Beauty Box is a great way to try new products for a really affordable price. You'll get a box of samples each quarter for only $5 and if you like any of the products, they're all easily available at Walmart stores and on their website. I especially like the Soo Ae mask and Rembrandt kit in this quarter's box!

August Degustabox Review and 50% off Coupon

The August Degustabox had a Campout theme and was full of great summer snacks!

*Disclaimer: This box was sent to See, Shop, Love! in exchange for an honest review. Post contains affiliate links.

The best thing about Degustabox is that they send only full-sized items, including everything from cookies and chips to sauces, teas, and more. Each month you'll receive nine to 14 items for only $19.99 and free shipping. This is a review of the U.S. box.

Degustabox is a big shipment and is a great addition to your regular grocery run. They send a variety of items at a great price, and it would definitely cost more to purchase each individually at the store.

The August box had 12 total items from 11 brands.
  • Wise Snacks Bravos Chips ($.50 each) - These chips have a Stadium Nacho flavor and were so good! They were new to me and I really liked the strong nacho flavor.
  • Popcorn, Indiana Movie Theater Popcorn (~$2.10) - This popcorn is made with real butter and salt, and although it obviously doesn't taste exactly like movie theater popcorn, it had a good kick of flavor and a nice crunch.
  • PR Bar ($1.99) - Protein bars are hit or miss for me, but this one was a definite hit because it was like eating a candy bar. It was coated in chocolate and had lots of peanut butter inside.
  •  Country Archer Jerky Co Sweet BBQ ($3.00) - This jerky is made with pork and uncured bacon and is also gluten-free. I don't eat jerky but this looks like it's made with great ingredients.
  • Prince of Peace Ginger Chews with Lemon ($1.99) - The Prince of Peace brand shows up in Degustaboxes a lot but I'm not complaining. I love ginger chews and these are great as a snack or to soothe an upset stomach. They're sweet and spicy and really warming.
  • Sahale Snacks Maple Pecans ($1.49) - This has a blend of warm, sweet flavors that capture the essence of a pecan pie. It's made with dry roasted pecans, walnuts, apples, and cherries.
  •  The Good Crisp Company ($3.49) - These chips are the product of the month and I received the Original flavor (the other option was Sour Cream and Onion). They're made with non-GMO ingredients and are gluten free. They're really addicting!
  • Colombina Breakfast Biscuits or Colombina Sweet Chili Sauce ($3.69 for the sauce) - Subscribers received either the Breakfast Biscuits or the Sauce, not both. I received both as a reviewer to be able to show both options. My information card doesn't have the biscuits listed, so I'm not sure on their price. Anyway, the biscuits were light and airy and my favorite item of the month. I like to have these types of biscuits on hand for an easy breakfast. I haven't cooked with the Sweet Chili Sauce yet, but it sounds wonderful, made with hand-picked peppers and no high fructose corn syrup.
  •  Ready Nutrition Protein Water ($2.50) - This has 15 grams of high quality 100 percent whey protein isolate, no sugar, and five grams of electrolytes without any artificial ingredients. This is great for a post-workout drink.
  • High Brew Coffee ($2.50) - This coffee is made with arabica beans that are cold brewed, not heated. This process creates twice the caffeine as standard coffee and lower acidity. I received the Double Espresso flavor and it was strong and delicious.
  • Post Frosted Shredded Wheat Chocolate Strawberry ($3.49) - This cereal has shredded wheat biscuits coated in strawberry flavored frosting with a burst of chocolate in the middle. It's a great balance of flavors and crunch!
Bottom Line: Degustabox is always fun, and this month's Campout box had a lot of new items for me to try. My favorite was the Colombina Breakfast Biscuits. The total approximate retail value this month is $27.24, accounting for the Colombina sauce (not biscuits).
Degustabox is celebrating their second birthday this month, so be sure to follow them on social media (links above) to enter to win two free months of boxes!

August Daily Goodie Box Review

Daily Goodie Box isn't a traditional subscription service, they're an entirely free box that you can sign up to receive in exchange for reviews of the products inside. Keep reading to see what was in the August box and learn how to get one in the future!

*Disclaimer: This box was sent to See, Shop, Love! in exchange for an honest review.

Daily Goodie Box really is 100 percent free. You'll never be asked for any kind of payment information. Boxes are sent out based on availability and aren't guaranteed, but all you have to do in order to try to get one is create an account on their website. You can also interact with them on Facebook or other social media in order to increase your chances (links at the end of this post).

In exchange for the box, all you have to do is log in to your account after you receive it and have tried everything and leave short reviews about each product. The list of products will pop up as soon as you log in, making it easy to share your experience. Daily Goodie Box is just looking for honest reviews of all of the items.

The August box had a bunch of great brands and products inside! Daily Goodie Box always sends a large variety of things, from beauty products to foods and snacks to household items. Here's what was inside:
  • WOLO Wander Bar Peanut Butter Protein Bar - I keep bars like these for easy breakfasts/mini meals when traveling, and this one has a soft layer of peanut butter over a crispy bottom. It also has 16 grams of protein, which is great for keeping you sated when you're running around and don't have time for a full meal.
  • Bright Day Hangover Prevention - It's been a while since I've had to worry about a hangover (i.e., my college days are long past!), but this is still an interesting supplement. It's made with antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals to remove the toxins that cause hangovers from alcohol.
  • RunGum Energy Gum - This gum has 50 milligrams of caffeine per piece, providing the same boost as a cup of coffee with faster absorption. They also have an extra strength variety that provides 100 milligrams per piece!
  • The Grandpa Soap Co Witch Hazel Shampoo and Conditioner - This shampoo and conditioner combo is perfect for my oily scalp. It helps remove buildup and oil residue with a calming blend of witch hazel, lavender flower, and coconut oil. It's also safe for color treated hair.
  •  Trust Fund Beauty Nail Polish - I love Trust Fund Beauty! Their polishes are non-toxic, vegan, and cruelty free and have great pigmentation. I received the shade Skinny Jeans, see the photo at the end of the post for it up-close.
  • Teapigs Rhubarb and Ginger Tea - Teapigs is another favorite of mine. Their teas come in the cutest packaging and are high quality. Ginger tea is one of my favorite varieties beecause it tastes great and is soothing on the stomach. This one adds a little bit of rhubarb for a clean, pure, zingy flavor.
  • That's It Apple and Blueberries Fruit Bar - I've had these bars before and they're very good, and Daily Goodie Box featured a full-sized box with five bars. The name is self explanatory: the bars are made with only apples and blueberries, with no preservatives, juices, concentrates, or purees. They're an easy way to get a serving of fruit on-the-go.
  •  Napz All Natural Sleep Solution - This supplement has been featured in Daily Goodie Box before, but I don't mind. Also, keep in mind that you won't receive every box, so this is probably new for a lot of people. Anyway, it's a short-term sleep aid made with chamomile, passion flower, lemon balm, and hibiscus to help calm the mind and induce sleep. I've been having trouble falling asleep lately, and I have to say, this really did work for me! I was able to drift off to sleep easier without my mind racing with a million thoughts, like usual.
  • Veroni Iron Energy - I suppose this product is the opposite of Napz! This energy drink is from Mike Tyson and is GMO-free, Kosher, and Halal-certified. I got the Mojito flavor, with mint and lime that can be used alone or as a mixer for cocktails.

Here's the full-sized polish from Trust Fund Beauty.
Bottom Line: Daily Goodie Box is so fun and a great free way to try new products! This was one of the best boxes I've seen yet, with a great mix of all different types of things to try. Be sure to create a profile on their website and maybe you'll get selected for a box!

Lypsyl Original Mint Lip Balm Review

I have a new favorite lip balm: the Lypsyl Original Mint Lip Balm! This balm is Sweden's #1 selling balm and is so soft and nourishing.

*Disclaimer: This product was sent to See, Shop, Love! in exchange for an honest review in partnership with BrandBacker.

Lypsyl is made with pure Swedish beeswax, organic shea butter to heal and protect, coconut oil to moisturize, and Vitamins A and E to soften and heal. All of the ingredients add up to a balm that provides deep penetrating, long lasting moisture. The balm is also not tested on animals.

The Original Mint Lip Balm has a light mint scent and flavor that's refreshing. I love the slight tingling sensation I get from the mint when I first apply it: it's not too strong at all, but it just feels cooling and soothing on my lips. I also like how smooth the application is. The balm is silky and evenly applies and provides great protection. I've been using it for a few days now and it leaves my lips feeling hydrated without any kind of residue or heaviness.

My other favorite thing about the Lypsyl balm, other than how well it works, is the adorable packaging! The cute little bee on the side is what you use to push the balm up and down for application.

I also really like the oval shape of the balm itself. It's easy to apply and glide over your lips. It's so creamy but also really lightweight.

The Lypsyl balm is perfect for any time of the year, but I can see it especially coming in handy once the weather starts to cool down for fall and winter and the humidity drops. I'm always applying lip balm during all seasons, and this one is excellent and affordable.

You can purchase the Lypsyl Original Mint Lip Balm for only $2.99 at Walmart, Walmart.com, and Meijers! Don't let the low price fool you, this balm is high quality and is going to be by my side for good!
  • You can purchase Lypsyl at the Walmart website here
  • Connect with them on Facebook
Bottom Line: I love the Lypsyl Original Mint Lip Balm. It has a silky smooth application and feel that provides lasting hydration. I also enjoy the minty scent and taste, and the cute packaging! This is an all around steal at only $2.99 and should definitely be a part of your beauty routine.

July Emma & ChloƩ Review and Coupon

Emma & ChloƩ is a jewelry subscription that always sends unique, gorgeous pieces, and July's box featured a necklace perfect for summer!

*Disclaimer: This box was sent to See, Shop, Love! in exchange for an honest review. Post contains affiliate links.

Emma & ChloƩ sends a handmade piece from an up-and-coming French designer each month. You can choose from either gold or silver when you sign up. Here are their pricing options:
  • Monthly: $35 per month
  • Three Months: $99 every three months ($33 per month)
  • Six Months: $186 every six months ($31 per month)
  • One Year: $348 annually ($29 per month, equivalent to two free boxes)

Each month your jewelry will arrive in a sturdy box, packaged in a drawstring bag for protection and future storage.

The subscription also comes with a little gazette that includes information about the designer, as well as features and a gallery of other pieces available in the Emma & ChloƩ shop. I really enjoy getting to read the interview with the designer each month, as it provides great insight about their inspiration for their pieces.

The July box also included an extra pair of sunglasses! These are not usually my style (I prefer aviators or more square frames), but they're really cute and perfectly aligned with the French chicness of Emma & ChloƩ.

The July item is a necklace from LUCKYTEAM. They're a team of designers from all over, including countries like the Philippines, Mali, India, and more. The brand was founded in 2007 in the French Riviera and aims to create a universe of artisans that share good vibes and beautiful jewelry with its customers.

The necklace is simply called Long Necklace ($97) and it is reminiscent of amulets of yesteryear. It's all about texture, with brushed brass inspired by Indian civilization and the cultural wealth of the country. The garnet stone at the center is a symbol of energy, courage, and strength and will provide protection to those who wear it.

I absolutely love this design! It's a perfect fit for my style, simple but beautiful. I'll wear this with a bunch of different outfit combinations.
Bottom Line: Emma & ChloƩ always sends beautiful jewelry, and the Long Necklace from LUCKYTEAM is another wonderful piece! I like the versatility of it, and it's really well made. The bonus sunglasses were a great perk, too!

August Target Beauty Box Review

I haven't purchased a Target Beauty Box in a while, but all of the products in the August box were ones I knew I'd use, and luckily they were still in stock when I went to purchase!

*Disclaimer: This box was purchased by See, Shop, Love!

The Target Beauty Box is exactly what it sounds like: a box of beauty samples put together and sold by Target. The box isn't a subscription and you have to purchase one each month online (only) if you want to receive one. They cost $7 with free shipping, and I had a few cents tacked on for New York state sales tax.

The boxes sell out pretty quickly, and honestly when I went to the Target site at 9 AM the day they were released I was surprised to see them still available. If you want a heads up for when they go on sale, sign up for the newsletter at My Subscription Addiction (if you're at my blog, you definitely know about MSA!).

I usually pass on the Target Beauty Boxes because they're fun, but for a while I had so many samples already that there was never anything in them that I felt I really needed. But the August box was a definite yes for me because it had a bunch of things I needed for my upcoming trip to the UK in October, all conveniently travel-sized. Well, except for the full-sized razor, but you know what I mean.

  • Not Your Mother's Beach Babe Soft Waves Tropical Banana Sea Salt Spray - I've used this before, not in the tropical banana scent, and it's a pretty good texture spray. My hair is too thick for it to create any waves on its own, but I like to spray this at my roots when my hair is damp and then blow dry for extra lift.
  • Schick Intuition F.A.B. - My best friend has been recommending this razor to me for a while so I was glad to see it in the box, especially since I'm sure they retail for more than $7 on their own. The F.A.B. stands for forwards and backwards, making shaving easier with a smooth glide.
  • Simple Kind to Skin Cleansing Facial Wipes - I've been trying to use less one-use cleansing wipes lately to be more environmentally friendly, but this small pack will be great for refreshing on-the-go for my trip. I'm not against using them once in a while, and the seven count will be good for travel.
  •  Acure Brilliantly Brightening Day Cream - This moisturizer has a blend of CoQ10, gotu kola, and argan oil to fight dullness and even out skin tone. CoQ10 is an enzyme and antioxidant that can help protect cells from damage, and gotu kola is a plant native to Asian wetlands that can help with many things, including working as a skin-healing agent that's great for sensitive skin.
  • bliss Fab Foaming Face Wash - This is a two-in-one cleanser and exfoliator infused with flower botanicals and natural ingredients to relieve dryness and soothe skin.
  • Eden BodyWorks Coconut Shea Body Lotion - This is enriched with Vitamin E and shea butter to soften skin and replenish its natural moisture balance.
Each box also includes a $3 off coupon for a beauty purchase of $15 or more at Target.

Bottom Line: This was a great Target Beauty Box for me and I've already packed away the little samples for my trip! I'm also curious to start using the F.A.B. razor now and see how well it works.

Dispatch: On the Run Review - Box 4

If you enjoy puzzles and immersing yourself in a good mystery, then the Dispatch box from Breakout Games is definitely for you! This serialized story sends interactive clues to help solve a case that you're at the center of.

*Disclaimer: This box was sent to See, Shop, Love! in exchange for an honest review.

The Dispatch box covers a different story for each series. The On the Run series is the first story and the one you'll receive when you first subscribe. There are 10 boxes total. The story follows the disappearance of your best friend, and you're the main character investigating what happened to him. Each month you'll receive a box from a different location sent to you by your friend as he's on the run.

The box costs $24.99 per month with free shipping. When I input my address in New York, $2 applied for taxes, so they may apply for the state of California as well.

Each box features a different set of highly interactive clues. This box is Chapter 3 in the story, but I'm calling it Box 4 because the first box you receive is an introductory box. You can see a link to all of my reviews at the end of this post.

For this chapter, we're moving to Australia. Your missing friend, James, has sent another box of clues to help you piece together the story to prove his innocence. The reason he's on the run is because he's suspected in the murder of his fiancee, a famous heiress (as you learn in the first box).

The clues can sometimes feel intimidating to me -- they're so detailed that sometimes I don't know where to start! There isn't much instruction other than the info card that lists everything inside, but if you ever get stuck you can submit a query to the detective you learn about in the first box, or chat with other real life players on the Slack Chat forum or on Facebook (search "Breakout Dispatch Members" for that).

Here's a look at all of the clues. I didn't take close-up pictures of every individual item, as that would ruin the surprise when you get the box yourself. But as you can see, everything is really well made and intricately detailed. There are paper files like police and medical reports, as well as physical items like the UV flashlight and playing cards (inside of the white box).

It's a lot of fun to take the time to sift through everything. I honestly find that I have to take multiple sessions to go through everything, because I want to read every detail in the story. Having the chat forums and online help is also great whenever you get stuck!
Bottom Line: The On the Run story continues to be full of intrigue, and I'm excited to see where it takes us next! Box 4/Chapter 3 was again full of interesting and interactive clues.
