Naked Nutrition "Naked Cake" Protein Pancake Review

I'm a big fan of Naked Nutrition and I've reviewed some of their products in the past (check for links at the end of this post). They've just launched a line of protein pancakes and I've got the Naked Cake pancake mix to share with you!

*Disclaimer: This product was sent to See, Shop, Love! in exchange for an honest review.

Naked Nutrition started with five single-ingredient supplements and has since grown to a variety of nutritional products, including the new Naked Cake. This pancake mix has 22 grams of protein and only five grams of sugar per service. As with all of the Naked Nutrition products, it contains only the premium ingredients you need.

The mix is in powder form and two scoops are enough for one serving (plus a half cup of water). There are about 11 servings per container, and each serving has 200 calories and 17 grams of carbohydrates. It also has a decent serving of calcium at 293 milligrams.

The powder mixed up easily with the water and a whisk and the texture was smooth.

Cooking is simple, it's the same as any other pancake. I used butter on my pan but you can substitute with margarine or a lower fat option if you choose. Each side cooked for about three to four minutes.

But how does it taste? In a world where protein products aren't always so tasty, the Naked Cake mix is actually really good! It tastes pretty much like a standard pancake, except I do get a stronger egg flavor than non-protein pancakes. The texture was light and fluffy. I really liked the Naked Cake pancake mix and I will be adding it into my routine as a regular breakfast, since I like a high-protein meal to start the day.

Bottom Line: Naked Nutrition's Naked Cake protein pancake mix is a delicious way to add more protein to your diet. Like all of the Naked Nutrition products I've tried, they're high quality and I recommend them!

New! Naked Nutrition Clear Naked Whey Review and Coupon

I've been using the Naked Nutrition Whey since I reviewed it back in July (read that review here) and I love it. Now Naked Nutrition has a new supplement, the Clear Naked Whey and it's just as great!

*Disclaimer: This product was sent to See, Shop, Love, in exchange for an honest review.

Naked Nutrition sells products with only the purest ingredients to help you meet your nutrition and fitness goals. Their supplements have no artificial sweeteners, no additives, and no artificial colors. They also have vegan protein powders.

Their newest product is the Clear Naked Whey, which is available in three flavors: Grape, Lemonade, and Fruit Punch. I received the Lemonade to try.

The Clear Naked Whey is made with 100 percent whey isolate powder and lightly flavored to create a refreshing beverage to help support muscle building and repair. Again, it has no artificial sweeteners or flavoring. Two scoops contain 80 calories, zero fat, four grams of carbohydrates, and 15 grams of protein.

I like having a fruity-flavored protein powder and a creamier flavor, like chocolate, so having this Lemonade fits perfectly with my Naked Nutrition Chocolate Whey.

I added this to my fruit smoothie and it added a tangy, delicious flavor -- there's no strange after taste or texture like some whey powders have. Given that it's whey, it also made my smoothie slightly more creamy than usual, which I like. It's almost the same texture as when I add yogurt with the frozen fruit.

Bottom Line: I'm very happy with the Naked Nutrition Clear Naked Whey! The Lemonade flavor tastes great in a smoothie and on its own (mixed with water). I especially like that it's low-carb and high protein!

Naked Nutrition Naked Whey Supplement Review

Weightlifting is my favorite way to exercise, so I'm very familiar with protein supplements. I find it hard to find ones that taste good but are nutritionally balanced,  but Naked Nutrition has an excellent line that fits both criteria!

*Disclaimer: This product was sent to See, Shop, Love! in exchange for an honest review.

Naked Nutrition was formed in 2014 when former cross country and track All-American athlete Stephen Zieminski noticed that a lot of the supplements he came across had filler ingredients with little nutritional value. He decided to start Naked Nutrition with five single-ingredient supplements, including Naked Whey from grass-fed California cows and Naked Pea from raw yellow peas grown in the US and Canada. There are no artificial flavors, colors, or sweeteners and no mixing agents in their products.

Naked Nutrition now offers over 50 products with most containing three ingredients or fewer. You can choose the flavor and additional nutrition of your supplement by adding whatever add-in ingredients you please.

I received the Naked Whey Chocolate Whey Protein Powder to try. As previously stated, the Chocolate Naked Whey is sourced from small California dairy farms with grass-fed cows that are raised without growth hormones like rBGH or rBST. Each service contains 25 grams of protein and 5.9 grams of BCAAs (branched-chain amino acids). There are no additives or sweeteners.

I'm glad that the whey also contains BCAAs, as I've found a lot of people take those separately when they really don't need to. The Naked Whey contains and adequate amount of those and protein, with only 160 calories per serving and fairly low sugar and carbs.

Now, the most important part (at least, to me): the flavor. I used cow's milk to mix with this and it tasted like chocolate milk! Obviously less sweet than something like Nesquik, but that's the whole point. This is a nutritional supplement, after all. But if you're used to chalky, oddly flavored protein powders, the Naked Whey will come as a nice surprise. I thoroughly enjoyed this supplement.

Bottom Line: I'm impressed with Naked Nutrition's Naked Whey supplement. It has minimal, but effective, ingredients and tastes great. I'll definitely be replacing my current supplement with this!
