VitaFive New Website Launch + 30% Off Coupon!

Last month I reviewed Vitafive, the first gummy vitamin subscription, and I loved their Beauty Pack! They've just launched a new website with improved functionality, so now ordering your monthly packs is even easier.

*Disclaimer: This product was sent to See, Shop, Love! in exchange for an honest review. Post contains affiliate links.

What is Vitafive? They're a subscription service that sends you all of the gummy vitamins you'll need to stay on top of your health. You can create your own packs based off of your needs, or you can choose one of their pre-made packs. I've been using their Beauty Pack and I love it! It contains two biotin, one Vitamin C, and one Omega-3 gummies to strengthen hair, skin, and nails while reducing cellular signs of aging. They're also really yummy citrus flavors.

The boxes contain individually packaged daily portions that are sent to you once a month. The prices vary depending on what type of pack you choose; the Beauty Pack costs $29 per month.

The old Vitafive site wasn't bad at all, but the new one is great. The functionality is improved and you can easily navigate to find anything you need!

  • Check it out and see all the different vitamin packs they have available!
    • Use coupon code ssl30 (all lowercase) for 30% off your first box

September RLB Art Box Studio Review and Coupon

I've always enjoyed arts and crafts but I never considered myself creative enough to come up with my own projects. I've also devoted less time to creative pursuits as I've gotten older, but luckily RLB Art Box Studio is here to provide monthly projects!

*Disclaimer: This box was sent to See, Shop, Love! in exchange for an honest review.

RLB Art Box Studio was created by Rachel L. Berlin as a way for customers to easily and conveniently learn how to use art supplies and make fun works of art. The box is designed for people ages 12 and up and no prior art experience is necessary. It contains everything you need to learn new techniques and makes something fun; it really is an art lesson in a box!

Here are the payment options:
  • Monthly: $25 per month
  • Three Months: $75 every three months, currently on sale for $70
  • Six Months: $150 every six months, currently on sale for $140
  • 12 Months: $300 every 12 months, currently on sale for $275
You can also try one box for $25 without committing to a renewing subscription.

The box came beautifully packaged in Earth-friendly packaging, meaning everything is made from recycled materials and can (and should be!) recycled after use. This may be something you might not notice, but it means a lot to me when companies go the extra mile to use packaging like this.

This month's project was called Reflections of Line. The box contains an instruction card, but you can also watch a video with instructions on the RLB Art Box website. I'm more of a visual learner, so watching the videos is preferable to me.

The project duration was listed as 60-80 minutes, but it only took me about 20 minutes (not including the drying time). It consisted of cutting strips of the yarn, dipping them in glue, and then arranging them in different shapes to create one big shape. That's a very simplified version of the instructions.

Here's my finished product! It only took me 20 minutes because I made a much smaller version than I think was intended, but I have to admit it's because the project was messy and I am impatient (that's not a criticism of RLB Art Box Studio, just me being me). They included gloves to use if you didn't want to get glue all over your hands, but I didn't use them because they made it hard to move the yarn pieces around the way I wanted them to be. I also clipped smaller pieces of yarn, so I think if I had made the sections bigger it may have been a little easier for me.

Since there was so much yarn included, this could easily be repeated. You may have to buy more glue, but that's not expensive so I would definitely use the supplies in the future to do this project again! I still have to find a good place to hang it, because I want it to get good light to cast a shadow somewhere noticeable.

Bottom Line: I really enjoyed this project and I never would have been able to come up with the idea myself. That's what I really like about this box--based on this and their past projects (you can view them all on their website), each box is incredibly creative! If you love art and are looking for a monthly project to create then I highly recommend RLB Art Box Studio!

September Beauty Box 5 Review

September's Beauty Box 5 features the BB5 team's favorite products! This month's box had a really good variety with lots of fun, practical picks.

*Disclaimer: This box was sent to See, Shop, Love! in exchange for an honest review.

As you can see, the box was pretty full this month--everything just barely fit! Beauty Box 5 costs $12 per month and shipping is free to U.S. address (and $3 to Canada). They send five deluxe samples and full-sized products ranging from color cosmetics to skincare to haircare, and more!

There were two full-sized products in the box, but the deluxe samples were decently sized as well. I think there's a good range of brands here, too!
  • Pur-Lisse Blue Lotus Essential Daily Moisturizer SPF 30 ($16.17 for .5 oz) - Wow, a full-sized tube of this is $55! I've seen the Pur-Lisse brand in other BB5s before, but I guess I never realized how expensive it was. This has white tea, soy proteins, and algae extracts to help calm, hydrate, and improve the texture of your skin.
  • Be a Bombshell Smooth Criminal HD Finishing Powder ($7, full-sized) - I ran out of setting powder a while ago and never bought a new one, so I'm glad I got this. It's made with silica and provides long-lasting wear for your foundation.
  • Simple Skincare Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes ($1.90 for seven wipes) - I feel like these show up in subscription boxes a lot, but I'm not complaining because I always use them. I love using face wipes post-work out or after working to remove my makeup. These have no harsh chemicals, artificial perfumes, or dyes.
  • Happy Brands Happy Hair Turban ($18, full-sized) - I think this is from the same brand that makes the Happy Face and Happy Hands wraps, but I couldn't find an exact listing for this product anywhere. Anyway, it's a gentle wrap that will dry your hair while reducing frizz and breakage.
  • Go Smile Teeth Whitening Gel ($4.26 for .4 oz) - Apply an equal amount of this gel along with your regular toothpaste to help whiten your teeth! I like using these types of whitening products because they're so easy and convenient. I've only been using it for two days, but so far I think it's working pretty well!
Bottom Line: September's Beauty Box 5 had a solid offering of practical products and a total approximate retail value of $47.33! I'm interested to see how all of these products work in my routine, especially the Go Smile gel.

SeabuckWonders Sea Buckthorn Review

Have you heard of sea buckthorn? It's a superfruit that touts great benefits for your entire body, and SeabuckWonders has been making products with it since 1994!

*Disclaimer: These products were sent to See, Shop, Love! in exchange for an honest review.

Sea buckthorn is a berry that's rich in Omegas 3, 6, and 9; rare Omega 7 fatty acid; over 190 phytonutrients; 10 times more Vitamin C than oranges; three times more Vitamin A than carrots; the highest Vitamin E content among fruits; six times more beta carotene than pumpkins; and much more! SeabuckWonders was the first company to bring sea buckthorn products to the United States in 1994. All of their products are made from 100% pure, USDA-certified organic sea buckthorn oil and are kosher certified, non-GMO, gluten-free, and Leaping Bunny-certified cruelty-free!

The Sea Buckthorn Berry Oil is a vegan dietary supplement than can be taken orally or used topically. It contains 1,000 mg of organic sea buckthorn berry oil and 300-350 mg of palmitoleic acid (Omega 7). You can take one to two drops orally or added to your food, or apply two to four drops to any desired areas. I didn't ingest this, but I have been using it on my problem dry skin areas. My elbows are always super dry and require a lot of exfoliating, and I applied two drops of this oil to the areas after using a body scrub. The oil itself is orange, but once you rub it into your skin it doesn't leave any color. It absorbed quickly and left my skin feeling really soft. The Omega 7 is great for skin, hair, and nail health. The oil overall is also great for gastrointestinal, liver, dental, and gum health.

I also received a bottle of the Ultimate Hair, Skin, and Nails supplement. I love supplements like these because my beauty routine is important to me and I'll gladly take something that will help support healthy hair, skin, and nails! This is also vegan and contains 5,000 mcg of biotin, which is excellent for supporting keratin, the fibrous protein that makes up our hair and nails. Cell-membrane nurturing Omega-7 helps to nourish and balance skin for a healthy glow.

There are 60 soft gel tablets in a bottle, and the instructions say to take two daily. I was a little concerned that they would be too large for me to swallow (I'm a baby when it comes to swallowing pills--anything bigger than an ibuprofen and I can't do it), but these are not too big at all. They're about an inch in length, plus they're soft gels so they're easy to take.

It's important to remember that with a supplement like this, you won't wake up after taking them for one day with a drastically different appearance. What this does is it helps support healthy hair, skin, and nails. It's the same as taking a daily multivitamin--it's not going to turn you into superman overnight, but it's going to help maintain a healthy balance within your body in the long run.
Bottom Line: SeabuckWonders has a great line of sea buckthorn products! This wonder berry has so many benefits, and with the Sea Buckthorn Berry Oil and Ultimate Hair, Skin, and Nails supplements you can easily reap its benefits!

September Work It Box Review and Coupon

There is a seemingly endless list of fun and exciting subscriptions out there, but every once in a while I come across one that's really special. Work It Box stands apart from the crowd to me because it features items for ambitious women, created by women!

*Disclaimer: This box was sent to See, Shop, Love! in exchange for an honest review. Post contains affiliate links.

Work It Box is all about celebrating the working woman. Creators Katrina and Stephanie wanted to celebrate working women and give them access to useful, every day products from women-led and created business and start ups!

The box costs  $25 per month, or $60 prepay for three months and shipping is free to U.S. addresses. Each box contains items from the following categories: Sips and The Snacks (snacks and refreshments), The Little Things (products to keep you from worrying about minor inconveniences like chapped lips), Motivational Mix-Ins (words of wisdom), Tools to Work It (supplies that stand out), and The Wearables (items to remind you of the large network of women who've found success in following their dreams).

The box is pretty big and the presentation is beautiful. As you can see, it's neatly wrapped in pink tissue paper with a W logo sticker on top.

There's a lot of tissue paper in this box -- remember to either recycle it or reuse it for future gifting! I saved the pink and white striped paper for future gift bags. Each item was also wrapped in white tissue paper and sealed with cute colored Washi tape (at least, I think it's Washi tape. I'm not a crafter).

The box contained items from seven different brands, and if you count each individual item there were 12 products total.
  • Mara-Mi Quotable Notecards and Pencil Duo - Mara-Mi was founded by Marilyn Rothschild and Mimi Fisher. The cards are beautifully made (scroll down to see a photo of the designs) and the pencils are cute. They have "Be Awesome" and "Look Busy" inscribed on them.
  • Tea Owl Studio Tiny Wish Bracelet - This little bracelet has the evil eye (not a bad thing--it's a symbol to ward off harm) design and is from owner Ashley Watson.
  • Numi Organic Tea Trio Sampler - Numi Tea is another favorite brand of mine; co-founded by Reem Rahim. The flavors included were Chamomile Lemon, Rooibos Chai, and Gunpowder Green.
  • #TeamWorkIt Wristband - This is an extra item from Work It Box!
  • Knock Knock To-Do Notepad - I've already used this sturdy notepad to write my grocery list on. It has a really cute design. The company was founded by Jen Bilik.
  • Boomchickapop Popcorn - I love Boomchickapop! I buy their popcorn all the time. They were co-founded by Angie Bastian. The Sweet & Salty Kettle Corn is the perfect mix of flavors and the Sea Salt Popcorn has just enough salt without being overwhelming.
Quotable Notecards and Tea Owl Studio Tiny Wish Bracelet

Numi Teas and #TeamWorkIt Wristband
I can't believe that this box only costs $25! I feel like similar boxes are way more expensive. I'm impressed by the quality of the items and I love that they're all from business owned by women.
Bottom Line: I think Work It Box has a great value and I love their mission of supporting working women. This box is well-rounded and a great treat for any woman!

September Degustabox Review and Coupon

I am a huge fan of Degustabox, and September's box is the best one yet! Each month I'm so impressed by the quality of these boxes, and I still can't get over how affordable they are.

*Disclaimer: This box was sent to See, Shop, Love! in exchange for an honest review. Post contains affiliate links.

Degustabox originally launched in the UK and is now available in the US! They send at least 10 full-sized snacks and other foods for only $19.99 per month with free shipping. You can also earn points to use towards purchases from the Degustabox store by reviewing the products in your box, or by referring friends. If you amass 100 points you can trade them in for a free box!

This month's box had 12 full-sized items! I really liked all of them and I can't wait to try them.
  • Sparkling Bitters ($1.99) - This sparkling water contains bitters for a distinct, refreshing taste. There are five flavors available and I received lemon. It's made with natural ingredients and has no calories, sugar, or sodium.
  • The English Provender Co. ($2.45 each) - When I saw the info card I thought we were going to receive one of the three options, but the box contained all three! There's a Caramelized Red Onion Chutney, a Luxury Lemon Curd, and Sweet Tomato and Chili Chutney. The English Provender Co. has been making small batch traditional English recipes since 1979 and these are non-GMO, vegetarian, and gluten-free.
  • Nando's Peri Peri Sauce ($3.49) - I love Peri Peri sauce and I've heard a lot about Nando's, but I've never tried them because they aren't in the U.S. Or, at least, there aren't any restaurants near me. This is a blend of lemons, garlic, onion, and spices.
  • Zollidrops ($4.99) - These were created by 11-year-old Alina Morse and are little candies that help reduce tooth decay and dry mouth. They're sugar free, gluten free, vegan, and kosher.
  • Michel et Augustin Cookies ($1.99 each) - I love Michel et Augustin! I've had their lemon cookies from Starbucks and I was excited to try the Shortbread flavors -- Pure Butter with Sea Salt and Pure Butter and Chocolate Chips. They're delicious little crunchy shortbreads and I want more.
  • PopCorners Carnival Kettle ($3.29) - I also love PopCorners! They're non-GMO verified, vegan, and gluten-free chips that are light and crisp. The Carnival Kettle flavor is the perfect mix of sweet and salty.
  • Honey Bunches of Oats - This wasn't listed on the info card so I don't have a value, but in grocery stores near me a box usually costs around $4. This is one of my favorite cereals so it won't last long.
  • Entenmann's Little Bites Chocolate Chip Muffin ($4.69) - These little muffins are so good. They're really dense and rich and are made with real chocolate.
  • Sam Mills Gluten Free Corn Quinoa Fusilli ($2.39) - This pasta is made with 100% natural ingredients and is free from wheat, soy, egg, dairy, tree nuts, nuts, fish, and shellfish. It's also non-GMO and kosher.
  • Toosum ($1.79) - These are gluten-free oatmeal bars that are only 100 calories. I like taking bars like this to work for an easy breakfast. I got the Cherry and Plum flavor.
  • BustaNut! ($1.49 each) - These are flavored peanuts in a convenient snack pouch. I got the Maple Bacon and Bourbon flavors. I usually don't eat peanuts, but these flavors sound really good so I'll give them a try.
  • Hak's Paks Rustic Ratatouille ($3.99) - I'm always looking for a great sauce to cook with and this one sounds delicious. It's made with tomatoes, zucchini, carrots, garlic, and onion with a blend of herbs de provence. I'm definitely going to use this in my crock pot!
Bottom Line: I know I say it every month, but I still can't believe this box is only $19.99 with free shipping! I'd spend at least twice that, if not more, if I bought all of these things at the grocery store. It's such a fun box and I love discovering the new foods they send.

If you want to give Degustabox a try, use this link to get your first box for only $9.99!

Beets BLU Bluetooth Scale Review

Last month I reviewed the Beets BLU Pager Tag (you can read that here) and now I'm back with another unique gadget from them! The Beets BLU Bluetooth Scale is the best scale I've ever used.

*Disclaimer: This product was sent to See, Shop, Love! in exchange for an honest review.

I know, weighing yourself can be no fun. It can seem like punishment. I've heard arguments for and against weighing yourself every day, and I think it really just depends on personal preference. I like to weigh myself every day because I like to know that I'm staying on track, but it's not an obsessive thing to me. I do work out regularly and am working towards a specific goal, so it's a daily reminder to stay on top of things and to make smart choices regarding my health.

The Beets BLU Bluetooth Scale makes it really easy to do this because it does so much more than just tell you your weight! This hooks up to your phone via Bluetooth, hence the name, and reads you your weight, body mass index (BMI), hydration level, and muscle mass. It retails for $59.95 on Amazon and is available for iPhone 4S and later, iPad (mini, 3, 4, and Air), and Android 4.4 and later.

The design is a nice, sleek black. It's super shiny and reflective, which was kind of annoying for taking photos because I always got a reflection. But at least you can see that it's well-made!

The scale itself is nice and light and measures 12" by 12". I placed it in my kitchen because my bathroom is too small and didn't have a convenient spot for it, and this works best on hard floors (i.e. no carpet). It comes with batteries and is easy to set up--just download the app to your device, put the batteries in, and step on. One thing to note is that even if you don't have your phone in range or on Bluetooth when you step onto the scale, it'll remember the measurements and upload them to the app the next time you have your phone in range/on Bluetooth.

The scale itself is so cool, but what I really like is that it has the app to go along with it. I like having a visual chart to view my progress (or possible regression!), because it's a good motivator for me to stay on track. The photo above has my measurements from today on the left and my monthly totals on the right. The monthly totals don't have a ton of data because I just started using the scale within the last week or two, but this gives you an idea of what the charts look like.

Now, I have to admit, I was skeptical at first. I had no doubts the scale would be able to accurately measure my weight, but how was it going to know my BMI, muscle mass, and hydration? I can say for certain that the BMI measurements are spot on because I manually calculated it after using the scale and got the same result. I don't have access to a body fat scale so I can't be sure that the muscle mass is correct, but it seems accurate to me based on what I know about my body and lifting schedule/capabilities. As far as hydration, I drink a lot of water and I'm conscious of how much I've had in a day, so this seemed accurate, too.
Bottom Line: This scale may seem a bit pricey at first, but I think it is worth it when you consider all that it does. Being able to track my weight, BMI, and muscle mass are really handy and I love that it stores the data in the app for me to reference.

August Play! by Sephora Review

I took my time posting this review because this month's Play! by Sephora box wasn't that exciting. I knew when I saw the theme spoiler, "The Eye Openers," that this probably wouldn't be my favorite box. It wasn't completely terrible, I just wasn't that into most of the samples.

*Disclaimer: This box was purchased by See, Shop, Love!

Play! costs $10 per month and there's 80 cents in sales tax for me in New York. Shipping is free. I think there's still a wait list to join, but it seems like they've been opening up spots more frequently, so hopefully you won't have to wait too long to get a subscription.

Each box comes with deluxe samples of products you can purchase at Sephora, and there's also a Play! Pass. This pass gets you a free tutorial at a Sephora store using the items in the box, and you'll get 50 extra Beauty Insider points if you make a purchase (can be used towards any purchase, you don't have to buy the items sampled).

So, as one can infer from the theme, this month's box was all about eyes. I actually love eyeshadows and doing eye makeup, but this box fell flat for me. Maybe it's because I already have so many eye products.
  • Make Up For Ever Artist Shadow in I-544 - This is a really pretty "iridescent pink granite" shadow according to the info card, but I call it mauve. It doesn't have a lot of shimmer once applied, so it's appropriate for the office. I like adding it on the week days for just a touch of color.
  • Lancome Energie De Vie Smoothing & Glowing Liquid Care Moisturizer - This is a really interesting little moisturizer. The info card says that it's a mix between a serum and an essence, which is pretty accurate. It has a low viscosity (it's really liquidy) and basically feels like water. It's supposed to relieve dullness, diminish signs of fatigue, and promote a healthy-looking glow. It absorbed quickly into my skin and didn't feel heavy at all, which was much appreciated during the hot days we had here last month.
  • Algenist Eye Renewal Balm - This is a nice creamy eye cream that reduces dark circles, puffiness, and wrinkles with anti-aging alguronic acid. It's a pretty standard eye cream, but I like to use them for preventive care.
  • CLEAN Reserve Warm Cotton - I had never met a CLEAN perfume that I didn't like until I tried this one. I was willing to give it a try because it was described as a blend of floral and musk (and I love musk), but it just smells like laundry. It certainly smells the way it should based on the name, but I don't really want to walk around smelling like laundry.
  • Sephora Collection Contour Eye Pencil 12hr Wear Waterproof in Love Affair - This is a plum eyeliner that's really easy to apply. I'll use this for when I want to add a little something to my look without it being as dramatic as a black eyeliner.
  • Urban Decay Perversion Mascara - I've gotten this as a sample before so I posted it for trade. It's supposed to be lengthening and volumizing, but it did neither of those things for me. It's just a pretty standard mascara in my opinion.
Bottom Line: Like I said, this box was just okay. I didn't love any of the products and won't purchase any full-sized versions of them. They can't all be winners, though, and hopefully I'll like next month's box better,
