DANI Naturals Skincare Review

DANI Naturals makes all-natural, vegan skincare inspired by the high desert. They craft everything from lotions and body washes to bath bombs and reed diffusers with eco-friendly ingredients.

*Disclaimer: These products were sent to See, Shop, Love! in exchange for an honest review.

DANI Naturals was founded in 1996 in Bend, Oregon with a single product: a handmade, natural soap. They've expanded to a full bath, body, and home line and are still going strong 20 years later! Their mission is to create products with only the purest ingredients to refresh and nourish the body and soul.

DANI Naturals products are Leaping Bunny-certified cruelty-free and free from sulfates, petroleum, parafiin, parabens, GMOs, and artificial colors and dyes. They are committed to using organic and natural ingredients. Their signature scents include Bamboo Bergamot, Coconut Hibiscus, Grapefruit Ginger, Lemongrass Lavender, Passion Fruit, and Sandalwood Vanilla.

I was interested in DANI Naturals because of their commitment to creating organic and natural skincare, but I also was drawn to them because my name is Danielle. They sent me a Coconut Hibiscus travel set and Lemongrass Lavender bath bomb to try.

The Coconut Hibiscus Travel Size Toiletries Kit comes with a shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and hand and body wash. Each bottle is 2 fl oz, making it the perfect set for air travel or general on-the-go needs. I took it with me to the gym and it was so convenient to have everything I needed right in one pack.

The coconut hibiscus scent is to die for -- so deliciously fruity and slightly floral. It reminds me of summer. The products are made without sulfates but still lathered up well and left my skin and hair feeling clean. The lotion is nice and smooth and absorbed quickly into my skin and left a soft scent.

A relaxing bath with a bath bomb is one of my favorite ways to wind down, and the Lemongrass Lavender Bath Bomb was quite a treat. The essential oil blend is the perfect balance between the calming power of lavender and the uplifting scent of lemongrass. There's also a hint of bergamot, geranium, and rosemary. I loved the scent and found it to be very relaxing.
Bottom Line: DANI Naturals has a great line of natural skincare products. I'm excited to try more of their bath bombs and want to pick up some candles, too. The two scents I tried were lovely and I'm sure the rest are equally soothing. This is a great brand for anyone looking for eco-friendly, cruelty-free beauty!

April Shades Club Review and Coupon

Summer's coming, so now is the perfect time to build up your sunglasses collection. Shades Club is a fun and easy way to do so, as they send high quality sunglasses of all different designs each month.

*Disclaimer: This box was purchased by See, Shop, Love! at a discounted rate in exchange for an honest review.

Shades Club sends a pair of sunglasses valued at around $100 for only $45 each month. All of the shades I've gotten have been great quality, comparable to brands at much higher price points.

Here are their pricing options:
  • Monthly: $45
  • 4 Months: $112 ($28 per box)
  • 6 Months: $162 ($27 per box)
  • 12 Months: $288 ($24 per box)
All orders ship with free 2-3 day shipping to the U.S. and international shipping prices vary based on the destination.

The Shades for April are the Nantucket Summer Vacay style. Each pair comes with a microfiber drawstring bag for storage that doubles as a lens cloth. Boxes sometimes also include extras, like a sunglass hanging kit. Your first box will come with the Shades branded fold up case (see that here).

I'm not quite sure what to call this style, as they're kind of wayfarers but have round lenses. The frames are a speckled black and white/clear pattern and the lenses are a purple/blue tint. You can see the branded "Shades" logo in the left hand lens in the photo above.

The arms of the glasses also have the style name and "If it feels good, do it" written on the insides, which I think is a fun addition to the design. The arms are sturdy, but I found that when I first unfolded them they had a little bit of resistance, so I was afraid I was going to snap them (no worries, though, the frames are well made, I was just being extra cautious).

This style is not the best for my face shape (I look best in squarer lenses), but I love the frames and the colored tint on the lenses. It's always fun to see what design will be in my Shades Club box every month, and they certainly send a great variety of styles!
Bottom Line: The Summer Vacay - Nantucket shades are the most colorful design I've gotten yet, and they're definitely suited for East Coast beach life!

April Gramma in a Box Review and Coupon

The April Gramma in a Box arrived a little later than usual due a shipping delay, but the issue was quickly taken care of and I received my box full of Spring treats!

*Disclaimer: This box was sent to See, Shop, Love! in exchange for an honest review.

Gramma in a Box is a monthly subscription that sends supplies for three candy and cookie crafts to share with your loved ones (or keep for yourself, no shame!). The box was created by Terry, or "Gramma," after her grandchildren moved away and she wanted a way to share baked goodies with them.

Here are the pricing options:
  • Monthly: $20 per month
  • Three Months: $55 every three months (save $5)
  • Six Months: $110 every six months (save $10)
  • 12 Months: $220 every 12 months (save $20)
Shipping is free to the U.S. and taxes are included. If you want to cancel, do so by the 25th of the month.

So this month there was a shipping error where some of the labels fell off of the boxes en route. It was just one of those unlucky circumstances that was the fault of no one; however, Terry promptly emailed me and the other customers affected and let us know she'd be shipping a second box. I appreciate the quick and considerate customer service!

The boxes come with all of the ingredients you'll need to create the crafts. The only things you may need to supply are household items like a spoon or bowl for mixing.

Project one was Marshmallow Flowers Pops. There were enough supplies to make six pops, but I made only three because I wanted to save a majority of the melting chocolate for project two. This activity consisted of melting the chocolate, then dabbing a quarter-sized amount on the supplied wax paper and arranging the marshmallows around an M&M center. The finished product is really cute!

Project two was Crunchy Birds' Nests. I used the leftover melting chocolate and mixed in the crunchy Chinese noodles, then spooned some into each of the six candy cups. The finishing touch was to add three jellybeans to make little "eggs."

The third project is always cookies, and this month's theme was Spring Cookie Decorating. The cookies are all pre-baked, so it's recommended that you complete your crafts within a week of receiving the box. There are also three frosting colors and sprinkles with which to decorate.

The shapes this month were eggs, birds, and bunnies!

I decided to keep my frosting simple this month, not going too crazy with trying to decorate the bunnies or birds. The bird reminded me of the Twitter logo, so I made him bright blue. There were eight cookies total, I just took a close-up photo of some of them so you could see the detail.
Bottom Line: I love spring things, so the April Gramma in a Box had a perfect theme for me (especially the bunny cookies)! I appreciated the prompt customer service with the missing boxes, and had a lot of fun, as always, completing the crafts.

Yardley London Activated Charcoal Bath Bar Review

Yardley London has been crafting fine luxury soaps since 1770. Their new Activated Charcoal Bath Bar is the newest in their tradition of bars made with time-tested ingredients from nature.

*Disclaimer: This product was sent to See, Shop, Love! in exchange for an honest review via BrandBacker.

Charcoal has gotten a lot of attention lately as a purifying ingredient. It's known for its ability to draw out impurities, and the Yardley London bar combines it with Bentonite clay to help purify and cleanse skin while you bathe. The scent is an uplifting blend of spearmint and bergamot to energize the senses.

You can see the ingredients list in the photo above. All of the Yardley London bars are paraben- and sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS)-free and are not tested on animals.

The Yardley London Activated Charcoal Bath Bar is a simple luxury. I really enjoyed using it in the shower, especially after a workout. It felt great to cleanse and purify my skin with the activated charcoal, as I knew it was giving me an added boost of cleansing. The scent is very light, but I absolutely love bergamot and it felt so calming to use it while washing! Even without SLS, it lathers up really well with a sponge or just between your hands. It's also curved, so it's easier to hold in your palm while lathering up.

Yardley London soaps are available at multiple stores, including Walmart, Walgreens, CVS, Rite Aid, Dollar Tree, Dollar General, ShopRite, Publix, HEB, and Wegmans. The Activated Charcoal Bath Bar costs anywhere from $1.29 to $1.49 depending on the store (it is only $.97 at Walmart), so it's great for beauty on a budget.
Bottom Line: I really enjoy the Yardley London Activated Charcoal Bath Bar! It smells lovely and cleanses my skin without leaving it feeling too dry or overly-washed. The activated charcoal and bentonite clay ingredients ensure a full, deep clean that's also gentle.

New Hard Candy Releases!

If you're a 90s kid like me, then you probably remember going to the store and picking up some Hard Candy makeup to play around with. It's one of the first brands I used as a pre-teen, and now they've released a line of great new products that are great for all ages!

*Disclaimer: These products were sent to See, Shop, Love! in exchange for an honest review.

What I like best about Hard Candy is that they have high quality products at really affordable prices. I was excited to try these new products, since I hadn't gotten anything from the brand in a while.

First up is the Matte-Aholic Velvet Mousse Lip Color and Lip Liner duo ($6). I received the "Forget Me Not" shade to try. I really only wear matte lipsticks, so this was perfect for me. The set comes with a color and matching lip liner, as you can see from the photo. Unfortunately this shade was a little too light for my skin and made me look washed out, but it's a beautiful light coral that would look great on cooler/lighter skin tones (see swatches at the end of the post).

I didn't realize that Hard Candy not only has color cosmetics, but a skincare line, too. The Sheer Envy Fix-It Mask Night Repair Face Mask ($8) helps dehydrated skin while you sleep. It's made with white and purple orchid extracts to restore dry, dull skin overnight.

I have oily skin so I usually stay away from overnight masks because they tend to be too heavy for me, but this one was incredibly light. It has the texture and viscosity of a gel serum, so it absorbed quickly into my skin. The next morning I followed my regular cleansing routine and my skin felt soft and smooth.

The Go For the Gold Pro Eyeshadow Collection ($10) is on par with much more expensive palettes I've used as far as pigmentation and color goes. I love the shade selection since I favor warm/golden tones and shimmers. There's a balance of mattes and shimmers to create lots of looks for night or day.

Here are all of the shades finger swatched, as well as the lip liner and lip color duo:

Although the lip color is a little light for my skin tone, the lip liner is a bit darker and I can definitely use it to fill in my lips as an all-over color itself.
  • Visit Hard Candy to browse their full line of products
Bottom Line: I loved all three of these products from Hard Candy! It was fun to try an old favorite brand again. I think all of these products are great for anyone who's looking for an affordable way to update their makeup and skincare collection. I really can't say enough about the great quality of each of the products, and you can't beat the prices!

Renaissance Bath and Body Review

The Renaissance Bath and Body monthly soap subscription is a lovely box that sends handmade bath and body products to your door! The products are inspired by amazing Renaissance women and are perfect for treating your self to some "me" time.

*Disclaimer: This box was sent to See, Shop, Love! in exchange for an honest review.

The Renaissance Bath and Body soap box costs $34.99 per month with free shipping (you can also choose faster shipping methods for an additional charge). The exact scents will vary from month to month, but each box will contain curated, handcrafted products including:
  • 2 bars of soap
  • 1 Body Scrub or Body Butter
  • 1 Bath Bomb or Bubble Bar
  • 1 Skin Care Product
  • 1 Sample Item

The box is beautifully packaged and all of the products were neatly placed inside with recyclable paper shredding to protect everything during shipping. The first thing I noticed was how lovely everything smelled!

There was an info card on the top of the package with the names of each item and their corresponding photo. I wish there was a little bit more information regarding what exactly the scents were, but at least it provided the names of the products so I could look them up on the Renaissance Bath and Body website.

As promised, the box contained five total products and one sample sized item. Here's what was inside:
  • Royal Invigoration Homemade Body Scrub ($12): This exact scrub isn't on the website, so I linked to a similar one. It has a creamy texture, thanks to bath whip and avocado oil, and is scented with peppermint oil. It was slightly foaming and felt wonderful as a hand scrub, but it can be used all over!
  • Maid of Orleans: I also couldn't find this on the site, but that's okay. It's a hand/body cream inspired by Joan of Arc and it smells divine! The texture is so creamy and rich and it absorbs quickly into my skin. The scent is light and sweet, like frosting.
  • River Goddess Soap ($7): This soap is inspired by Jacquetta of Luxembourg (also known as the Countess Rivers) and is scented with lemongrass and clary sage. It's a cold process soap made with therapeutic-grade essential oils. The scent is really soothing.
  • Royal Enchantress Soap ($7) - This soap is inspired by Anne Boleyn and is scented with lavender, peppermint, and spearmint essential oils. The top is decorated with rosemary, which is a natural exfoliant.
  • Royal Fizz: I love bath fizzers! This one has a clean scent that is slightly floral. I can't wait to use it in my next bath.
  • Sample Soap: The sample soap is a generous size and has a fleur de lis decoration on top. I love the scent, it's warm and floral, and the soap lathers up nicely. I already have it sitting in my bathroom.

All three soaps smell so good and are so beautiful! I love the designs and coloring of all of them.
Bottom Line: The Renaissance Bath and Body soap box is a great value. I've seen similar boxes for much higher prices. All of the products were extremely well made and smelled so good. I highly recommend this box to anyone looking to treat themselves to a little bit of luxury!

Dove DermaSeries Overnight Face Cream Review

The new Dove DermaSeries Overnight Face Cream is clinically proven to work while you sleep, giving you beautiful skin overnight!

*Disclaimer: This box was sent to See, Shop, Love! in exchange for an honest review.

The new DermaSeries Overnight Face Cream is a therapeutic-grade cream for very dry skin. It has a light, non-greasy texture and ingredients to kickstart skin's nighttime renewal process. The formula is enriched with shea butter and glycerin to deeply hydrate skin. Essential nutrients, such as triglycerides, help repair the skin's natural barrier function.

The cream is also fragrance-free, hypoallergenic, and is made without parabens and sulfates. It's also recognized by the National Eczema Association as suitable for eczema-prone skin.

I've been using this cream for a few weeks now and it is a great nighttime moisturizer. The formula really is quite light and it absorbs into skin easily without any residue or heavy feeling. Just a pea-sized amount is enough to spread over my face and neck area, so the tube will last a while.

The DermaSeries Overnight Face Cream is specially formulated for very dry skin, but I think it's appropriate for all skin types. I have oily skin, but this still worked great with my skin's texture and needs without making it feel oily or overly-moisturized.
  • Visit the Dove website to learn more and purchase
Bottom Line: The Dove DermaSeries Overnight Face Cream is an affordable way to help boost your skin's hydration and softness. It's great for dry skin and works with all skin types!
