July Beauty Box 5 Review

Beauty Box 5 had a delivery issue with one of the products for July's box, so shipments were delayed by quite a bit. But the box is finally here and it had some great products!

*Disclaimer: This box was sent to See, Shop, Love! in exchange for an honest review.

Beauty Box 5 costs $12 per month for $35+ in deluxe samples and full-sized products. Shipping is free to the U.S. and $3 to Canada. The goodies inside range from skin care to accessories to color cosmetics, and more!

To apologize for the shipping delay, Beauty Box 5 sent everyone an extra brush in their boxes. I received the Crease brush and it's a duplicate from a previous box, but these brushes are well-made and I'm happy to have a spare. I appreciate that Beauty Box 5 included a bonus item for everyone.

The box also featured:
  • Seraphine Botanicals Quince + Crimson Crayon ($24, full-sized) - This gorgeous shade of red can be used on your lips or cheeks with a semi-matte finish. It also has a slight fruity scent.
  • Styli-Style Line & Seal Eye Liner ($6.50, full-sized) - I usually receive eyeliners in colors I won't use (bright blues, etc) from BB5, but this month I got a black shade that I will definitely use (assorted colors were sent, so yours may not be the same as mine). The liner has a gel-like formula for long lasting wear.
  • Manna Kadar Cosmetics Glo Illuminator ($10.88 for .27 fl oz) - I have a full-sized tube of this and I love it. It leaves a very subtle sheen when applied.
  • Luseta Argan Hair Masque ($8.60 for 2.03 fl oz) - This rich mask promotes growth and protects against future heat damage. I'm going to enjoy using this on my heat styled hair.
  • Nanacoco Rio II Nail Polish ($3.95 for .5 fl oz, full-sized) - Assorted colors were sent and I received Copacabana Coral, which is perfect because coral is one of my favorite shades for nail polish.
Seraphine Botanicals Quince + Crimson Crayon
Bottom Line: The July Beauty Box 5 had a total approximate retail value of $53.93, not including the bonus brush. Even though the box was a little late, I'm still pleased with everything that was included. I'm especially excited to use the Luseta Argan Oil Hair Masque!

June Beauty Box 5 Review

Adventure Awaits with June's Beauty Box 5! That's the theme for the month, and the box is once again full of fun beauty products.

*Disclaimer: This box was sent to See, Shop, Love! in exchange for an honest review.

Beauty Box 5 sends deluxe samples and full-sized products for $12 per month. Shipping is free to the U.S. and $3 to Canada. They send a good assortment of items, from hair care to skincare and color cosmetics, and more!

The June box featured four full-sized products. Here's what was inside:

  • Coastal Scents Revealed 3 Palette - I love the Revealed 3 palette! I have a full-sized version of it but this one is perfect for on-the-go. It has four shimmery neutral shades for a complete eye look.
  • Prestige Cosmetics My Biggest Lashes Mascara ($7.50, full-sized) - I needed a new mascara and this one is perfect. It adds volume and thickness to my lashes without being clumpy.
  • Did Hair Jeweled Hair Tie Set ($7.50, full-sized) - These cute little hair ties have a jewel accent and keep your hair tied back without leaving creases.
  • Laritzy Lip Pencil in Bare ($18.00, full-sized) - This long-lasting lip pencil is in a pink/nude shade with creamy, pigmented color payoff. I don't usually use lipliner but this could probably even be applied all over lips for subtle color.
  • Jesse's Girl Liquid Eyeliner ($6.99) - This eyeliner has a calligraphy-style brush for precision. The shade I got is bright blue and will be fun to play around with for summer looks.
Bottom Line: This month's box had a total approximate retail value of $39.99, not including the Coastal Scents eyeshadow quad. I love the mascara and hair ties, too. Overall this was another fun box from Beauty Box 5!

May Beauty Box 5 Review

This month's Beauty Box 5 featured five great products for a Summer Date Night theme, plus a bonus sixth item!

*Disclaimer: This box was sent to See, Shop, Love! in exchange for an honest review.

Beauty Box 5 sends five deluxe samples and full-sized products each month valued at $35+. The items are usually pretty varied and can be anything from skincare to hair care to color cosmetics, and more! The box is $12 per month with free shipping to the U.S. and $3 to Canada.

Every product in this month's box was full-sized! Beauty Box 5 usually sends a good amount of full-sized products, but getting all full-sized is always a special treat. They also included an extra skincare bonus.

  • Daily Concepts Exfoliating Body Scrubber ($5.00) - This little sponge buffs away dead skin and roughness. It provides a mild exfoliation and is appropriate for all skin types, even sensitive. The info card says that the smart label will fade when it's time to replace, but I opened mine up and there's no label printed on the sponge itself, so I'm not quite sure what that means. There is a small tag on the side, so maybe that's the part that fades.
  • De La Cruz Arnica Salve - This is the extra bonus item and I really like it. I'm a big fan of anything that deeply moisturizes, and this is great for dry, cracked skin. I liked to use it to soothe my cuticles.
  • Cougar Beauty 24 Hour Liquid Lipstick ($12.99) - The shade isn't printed on the packaging, but based on the color options printed on the side of the box I believe I got Rioja, which is a red/mauve.
  • Jelly Pong Pong Bare Necessities Highlighting Pencil ($17.95) - This peachy pencil can be used as an eyeshadow base, highlighter, and concealer. I usually prefer powder highlighters, but this is good for lining the inner corners of your eyes and waterline.
  • Jersey Shore Cosmetics Mongongo Lip Conditioner ($10.00) - I can never have enough lip balms. This one has a coconut scent and is made with natural and organic ingredients.
  • Nanacoco Jumbo Eye and Lip Pencil ($5.50) - I received the Lime Festival shade and it's a little bit too adventurous for me. It's definitely a good color for spring and summer though if you like daring eye looks.
Bottom Line: May's Beauty Box 5 had a total retail value of $51.44, not including the bonus Arnica Salve. I really liked the lip balm and liquid lipstick!

April Beauty Box 5 Review

Temperatures are finally reaching the 80s here and the extra sunshine means time for tans! Sunless tans, that is. The April Beauty Box 5 features great gold products to keep you shimmering for the upcoming summer!

*Disclaimer: This box was sent to See, Shop, Love! in exchange for an honest review.

Beauty Box 5 costs $12 per month for $35+ in products. Shipping is free to the U.S. and $3 to Canada. Each month you'll receive deluxe samples and often full-sized products ranging from skincare to hair care to color cosmetics, and more.

New subscribers will receive a free full-sized Marsk eyeshadow in their first box!

Gold is my favorite color when it comes to cosmetics. Gold eyeshadow, gold bronzer, I just love the way it looks with my skin tone. Naturally I was very happy that April's theme was "You're Golden!"

This month's box featured four full-sized products. Beauty Box 5 always does a good job of sending quite a few full-sized items each month. Here's what was inside:
  • Be a Bombshell Blush ($6.00, full-sized) - Assorted colors were sent and I received Cougar, which is a great brown shimmer. I'm probably going to use it as a bronzer instead of a blush because it's very similar to the one I currently use and that one is almost gone.
  • Did Hair Gold Bobby Pins ($8.50, full-sized) - I have black hair so these gold bobby pins will stand out great as a simple accessory.
  • Beauty Box 5 Highlight Fan Brush ($12.00, full-sized) - I've never had a fan brush before so I honestly had to look up how to use it. It's a great way to add a dash of highlighter or a soft layer of blush or powder foundation.
  • Jean Pierre Vitamin-C Sheet Mask ($2.60 for one mask) - This mask has vitamin C to lighten dark spots and for anti-aging. I don't use sheet masks because I can never sit still for long enough (usually they say to leave it on for 15-20 minutes), but I'll give this to a friend who will.
  • Sweep Rose Gold Lash Curler ($15.99) - There have been a few Sweep products in recent boxes and I've really enjoyed them. This curler is nice and sturdy and I love the rose gold color! It grabs my lashes and gives a nice dramatic curl.
Be a Bombshell Blush in Cougar
Bottom Line: The April "You're Gold" Beauty Box 5 gets an A+ from me! The total approximate retail value was $45.09. I couldn't find a listing for the fan brush, Did Hair bobby pins, or Sweep curler but regardless I think this box had a great assortment of items; I especially love the Sweep curler and Be a Bombshell Blush!

March Beauty Box 5 Review

Last month's Beauty Box 5 was all about lips, and March's box is all about the eyes! This month's box had five products to create a dramatic eye look.

*Disclaimer: This box was sent to See, Shop, Love! in exchange for an honest review.

Beauty Box 5 sends five deluxe samples and full-sized beauty products ranging from skin care to cosmetics to tools, and more! The box is $12 per month with free shipping to the U.S. and $3 to Canada.

I knew right away what the theme was for this month when I saw the info card, I mean it's kind of hard to miss. I like the idea of boxes tailored towards one specific look, maybe not for every month, but it's something new for BB5 and I think the boxes have been great. Here's what was inside:
  • Sweep Lashes - The Elisa Lash ($15 for set of 5, full-sized): I've tried to wear falsies a few times before but I've never been good at applying them. These are full and gorgeous and I love them! I'm excited to try them and I think I'll be able to put them on much easier with the help of the next item...
  • Sweep Lash Helper ($9.99, full-sized): This is a neat little tool that helps you perfectly place the eyelashes onto your lash line. The box didn't contain any glue for them, though, so I'll have to go out and buy some before I can use the lashes and this tool.
  • Manna Kadar Lash Primer ($14 for .14 oz) - My eyelashes are short and stick straight out so I'm all about anything that helps to lengthen and volumize them. This primer is applied before mascara and helps to lengthen and add bulk to lashes. It also contains proteins to help hydrate hair follicles and keep mascara from flaking.
  • Prestige Cosmetics True Metals Eyeshadow ($9.75 for .09 oz, full-sized) - At first I thought this silver shimmer was quite garish, but now that I think about it it's perfect for highlighting the inner corners of the eyes. I love adding a lighter shimmer to that area to help open up and brighten my eyes. This is a nice sturdy compact and it'll last a while.
  • BellaPierre Cosmetics Cosmetic Glitter ($15 for 3.75 g) - I haven't worn glitter on my face since I was in sixth grade and I'm probably going to keep it that way, but this is a nice glitter made up of fine particles--as in nothing too big or chunky. Those who do more daring looks that I could probably have a lot of fun with this!
BellaPierre Cosmetic Glitter and Prestige Cosmetics Eyeshadow
Bottom Line: I don't usually put a ton of effort into my eye looks so it's nice to get products I wouldn't normally buy. I'm really excited to try the Sweep Lashes and I hope the tool helps me apply them with ease! The lash primer will be put to good use and the Prestige Cosmetics eyeshadow will be a fun addition to a night out look. Maybe I'll even use the glitter, too!

February Beauty Box 5 Review

February's Beauty Box 5 was perfectly themed for Valentine's Day. Normally I love the variety of products in each month's box, but this one was a little different--but still great!

*Disclaimer: This box was sent to See, Shop, Love! in exchange for an honest review.

Beauty Box 5 sends five deluxe samples and full-sized products for only $12. Each box will have at least $35 worth of products, ranging from skincare to hair care to color cosmetics, and more! Shipping is free to the U.S. and $3 to Canada.

When I opened the box I was eager to see what was inside, and I quickly realized that everything was a lip product. I thought that was weird, especially since BB5 usually sends a good amount of different products. But then I read the info card and realized it was on purpose to fit the "The Kiss Kit" theme.

  • Jean Pierre Cosmetics Pink Moisturizing Lip Mask ($1.00 for one mask) - This lip mask has collagen, vitamins, and minerals to repair dry lips. I've used lip masks like this before and they feel nice and soothing.
  • Tint Beauty Unicorn Lippie ($9.00 for .18 oz, full-sized) - I love the name of this! I received the shade "Make Believe," which is a light pink creme (see photos below). This is a brand new product from Tint and is an ultra-pigmented matte liquid lipstick.
  • Tint Beauty Unicorn Liner ($7.00, full-sized) - I also received this in "Make Believe," which I'm not sure was on purpose or coincidence, but I'm glad I got the shade to match the Unicorn Lippie.
  • So Susan Color Hybrid ($17.50 for .34 fl oz, full-sized) - This is a beautiful red shade named Marsala with a velvety smooth texture. It's a cream-mousse formula that's great for all skin tones. It's also cruelty-free and made with organic Sacha Inchi oil to soothe lips.
  • Style Essentials Lip Glow ($4.00 for .09 oz, full-sized) - I got the shade "Rose," which is a very light pink shimmer. It also smells really great, sweet and slightly floral. It's a balm lip crayon with a moisturizing finish.
Style Essentials Lip Glow

Tint Beauty Unicorn Lippie and Liner
Bottom Line: Even though all of the products were lip products this month I'm excited to try everything out. There's a good representation of different shades and types of lip products. I especially like the Unicorn Lippie and Liner!

January Beauty Box 5 Review

I apologize for posting a January box in February, but this box came a little bit later than usual. It was worth the wait, though! January's Beauty Box 5 had some really great products.

*Disclaimer: This box was sent to See, Shop, Love! in exchange for an honest review.

Beauty Box 5 is a one of my favorite beauty subscriptions because they're affordable and always feature a lot of full-sized products. The box will cost you $12 per month with free shipping to the U.S. and $3 to Canada. You'll get five deluxe samples and/or full-sized items ranging from skin care to hair care to color cosmetics, and more!

January's box had four full-sized items from a good mix of categories. Beauty Box 5 always has a good variety of product types and brands. Here's what was inside:
  • Nanacoco Nail Polish ($3.95 for .5 fl oz, full-sized) - I received the shade Girl, which is a mauve/pink creme. BB5 has sent Nanacoco before and I do like their polishes. They go on smoothly and I only needed two coats of this for an opaque color,
  • So Susan Light Diffuser ($18 for .3 g, full-sized) - I really like the So Susan brand because they're cruelty-free and have super cute packaging. This is an illuminator and bronzer duo that's great for travel; scroll down for a photo of it opened.
  • Novex Bamboo Sprout Leave in Conditioner ($4.99 for 3.88 oz, full-sized) - I've been stocking up on moisturizing products for my hair because it is dry, dry, dry in the winter, plus I heat style every day. This is indicated for weak or brittle hair and is enriched with bamboo sprout. It has a nice clean scent that smells slightly citrus-y to me.
  • Pur-Lisse Blue Lotus 4-in-1 Cleansing Milk ($7.10 for 1 oz) - This gentle cleanser is made with soy milk, soy proteins, whole oat, and white tea. Blue Lotus is an antioxidant known for its anti-inflammatory properties.
  • Maskeraide Spotted Anti-Blemish Clear Spot Patches ($7.00 for two sheets of 12 spots, full-sized) - These little mask patches have salicylic acid, volcanic ash, and tea tree oil to absorb excess oil and calm redness quickly. I just had a blemish appear on my chin, so I got these at the perfect time!
Bottom Line: The January Beauty Box 5 had a great assortment of products and I will put them all to good use! I'm especially excited to try the Novex conditioner and the So Susan Light Diffuser. This month's box also had a total approximate retail value of $41.04!

December Beauty Box 5 Review

I love getting boxes every month, but December is always extra fun for me because of Christmas and because my birthday is in December. Getting my Beauty Box 5 felt like an extra special gift this month!

*Disclaimer: This box was sent to See, Shop, Love! in exchange for an honest review.

Beauty Box 5 sends five deluxe samples (and oftentimes, full-sized products) to you each month for only $12! Shipping is free to the U.S. and $3 to Canada. They always have a good variety of products, including skincare, hair care, accessories, and more!

This month's box featured four full-sized items! I think everything is great for winter. Here's what was inside:
  • Amlactin Cerapeutic Restoring Body Lotion ($2.99 for 2 oz, full-sized) - Amlactin is one of my favorite brands for really dry skin. This has a patented Ultraplex formula and ceramides that relieve dryness for up to 24 hours. It feels a little greasy at first, but once it absorbs into the skin it relieves the dry patches on my hands really well.
  • Jelly Pong Pong Liquid Gossamer ($22.95 for .27 fl oz, full-sized) - I love Jelly Pong Pong because the name is so fun to say and their packaging is always really cute. This liquid highlighter is paraben- and cruelty-free and made with 78% natural ingredients.
  • Professional Freezing Finish Spray ($3.00 for 2 oz, full-sized) - This hairspray has a strong hold and adds body and texture. It's perfectly sized for your purse or travel!
  • Neutrogena Rainbath ($.85 for 1 fl oz) - This is in the Original scent and smells clean and slightly masculine. It's made with a combination of spices, herbs, and fruits to create an interesting scent that I really like.
  • Hikari Cosmetics Lip Gloss ($13.00 for .16 oz, full-sized) - Assorted colors were sent and I received Castle, which is a warm tan. Unfortunately this is not going to look great on my skin since I already have tan skin with yellow undertones, but I've used Hikari's lip glosses before and they have great pigmentation and moisture.

Bottom Line: Aside from the Hikari lip gloss, I'm going to get good use out of all of these products. I actually really like Hikari Cosmetics, unfortunately the shade I received just didn't work for my skin tones. December's box had a total approximate retail value of  $42.79 with four full-sized products, which is an awesome deal for only $12!

November Beauty Box 5 Review

November is my favorite month because I love when the weather gets cold and the snow starts to fall. I know, I'm crazy! But I've just always loved the colder months. Luckily, Beauty Box 5 sent a great assortment of products this month, with the theme "It's too cold for a naked face!"

*Disclaimer: This box was sent to See, Shop, Love! in exchange for an honest review.

Beauty Box 5 sends five deluxe samples and full-sized items for only $12 per month with free shipping (to the U.S., Canada is $3)! The samples range from skincare to color cosmetics to tools, and more. They always send a good amount of full-sized items and I like the variety of brands, too.

I have to admit that I've gotten a little lazy with my morning makeup routine. Staying in bed for a few extra minutes has been winning out over taking the time to put on all of my normal makeup, plus I've been feeling a bit uninspired. But this month's box had great products to help jump start me back into a routine again.
  • Briogeo Don't Despair, Repair! Deep Condition Hair Mask ($4.50 for 1 oz) - I've gotten this in a few other boxes before but I haven't ever actually used it. Now that winter is here it means even drier air outside, so I'm definitely going to put this to good use to keep my hair moisturized. It has no sulfates, parabens, silicones, artificial colors, or fragrances.
  • Manna Kadar Lip Locked Stain in Shae ($6.93 for .052 oz) - I've really liked every Manna Kadar product I've tried, and I especially like that they're a Leaping Bunny certified cruelty-free brand. This is a primer, stain, and lip gloss all in one. The shade is kind of like a mauve/nude, so it's great for daytime wear.
  • Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes ($1.96 for 7 wipes) - BB5 does tend to send makeup wipes more often than other boxes, but I'm not complaining--if you've been reading my blog for a while you know that I use these on the daily, so I'm always glad to get a spare pack.
  • Peony Shadow Trio in Gilded ($17.95, full-sized) - This is the perfect little palette for me! I love golds and browns and like having portable palettes like this for travel. I love every shade and will put this to good use. It's also vegan, cruelty-free, gluten-free, and paraben-free.
  • BB5 Cut That Crease Angle Brush ($10, full-sized) - I actually don't have a true crease brush, usually I just cheat with other smaller brushes. This has really soft bristles and looks like it'll be good for smudging, too.
Bottom Line: This box was pretty much perfect for me! I love the eyeshadow palette, will definitely use the makeup remover wipes and the hair mask, and am curious to try the lip stain and crease brush. The box had a total approximate retail value of $41.34!

October Beauty Box 5 Review

The Beauty Box 5 for October featured products for a Girl Boss. There four full-sized items this month (five total, hence the name), with some familiar brands and new favorites for me!

*Disclaimer: This box was sent to See, Shop, Love! in exchange for an honest review.

Beauty Box 5 costs $12 per month and shipping is free to U.S. addresses ($3 to Canada). Each box has five deluxe samples and full-sized items ranging from skincare to makeup to haircare, and more!

I really liked the variety in this month's box. I like a good mix of fun and practical, and this theme definitely delivered on that. Here's what was inside:
  • Chella Ivory Lace Highlighter Pencil ($18, full-sized) - I've used this Chella pencil before and I love it for lining the inner corners of my eyes. You can use it wherever you please, but the info card also suggest using it to line your waterline and accentuate your cupid's bow.
  • Colour Me Fragrances in Femme Red (price unknown) - This is a small sample vial, but a full-sized bottle retails for $10. The other possible option was Femme Gold, which has notes of fruit and citrus. I got Femme Red, which is floral and spicy. I'm on the fence with this one--I like it, but it's strong. It's definitely a "night" scent.
  • Emery + Ivory Custom Nail Appliques ($12.99, full-sized) - I love getting nail appliques and the design I got is just my style (see photo below).
  • Real Her Moisturizing Lipstick in I Love Myself ($18, full-sized) - I have so many lip products, so I didn't open this right away, but the shade is a nice nude. The formula is a mix of gloss and matte that leaves lips moisturized and pigmented.
  • Amlactin ULTRA Hydrating Body Cream ($2.99, full-sized) - This is a nice little travel-sized body cream. The Amlactin brand is great for me, especially during winter, because my skin gets really dry. This is specially formulated to combat Keratosis Pilaris, a condition that cause rough patches of skin.
Bottom Line: Almost every item in this box was full-sized, which is a great deal in my opinion. I'm really excited to try the Emery + Ivory nail appliques, and I know the Amlactin lotion will come in handy.

September Beauty Box 5 Review

September's Beauty Box 5 features the BB5 team's favorite products! This month's box had a really good variety with lots of fun, practical picks.

*Disclaimer: This box was sent to See, Shop, Love! in exchange for an honest review.

As you can see, the box was pretty full this month--everything just barely fit! Beauty Box 5 costs $12 per month and shipping is free to U.S. address (and $3 to Canada). They send five deluxe samples and full-sized products ranging from color cosmetics to skincare to haircare, and more!

There were two full-sized products in the box, but the deluxe samples were decently sized as well. I think there's a good range of brands here, too!
  • Pur-Lisse Blue Lotus Essential Daily Moisturizer SPF 30 ($16.17 for .5 oz) - Wow, a full-sized tube of this is $55! I've seen the Pur-Lisse brand in other BB5s before, but I guess I never realized how expensive it was. This has white tea, soy proteins, and algae extracts to help calm, hydrate, and improve the texture of your skin.
  • Be a Bombshell Smooth Criminal HD Finishing Powder ($7, full-sized) - I ran out of setting powder a while ago and never bought a new one, so I'm glad I got this. It's made with silica and provides long-lasting wear for your foundation.
  • Simple Skincare Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes ($1.90 for seven wipes) - I feel like these show up in subscription boxes a lot, but I'm not complaining because I always use them. I love using face wipes post-work out or after working to remove my makeup. These have no harsh chemicals, artificial perfumes, or dyes.
  • Happy Brands Happy Hair Turban ($18, full-sized) - I think this is from the same brand that makes the Happy Face and Happy Hands wraps, but I couldn't find an exact listing for this product anywhere. Anyway, it's a gentle wrap that will dry your hair while reducing frizz and breakage.
  • Go Smile Teeth Whitening Gel ($4.26 for .4 oz) - Apply an equal amount of this gel along with your regular toothpaste to help whiten your teeth! I like using these types of whitening products because they're so easy and convenient. I've only been using it for two days, but so far I think it's working pretty well!
Bottom Line: September's Beauty Box 5 had a solid offering of practical products and a total approximate retail value of $47.33! I'm interested to see how all of these products work in my routine, especially the Go Smile gel.

August Beauty Box 5 Review

August's Beauty Box 5 had a theme I can really get behind: Pampering in Progress! They sent some great skincare and hair care items this month.

*Disclaimer: This box was sent to See, Shop, Love! in exchange for an honest review.

Beauty Box 5 sends five deluxe samples and full-sized products for only $12 per month. Items can include anything from skincare, color cosmetics, haircare, and accessories and tools. Shipping is free to U.S. addresses and $3 to Canada.

This month's box had four full-sized products. I've found that Beauty Box 5 always sends a good amount of full-sized items.
  • Global Beauty Care Retinol Spa Treatment Mask ($7.50, full-sized) - This sheet mask has retinol (obviously), which reduces fine lines and wrinkles while boosting cell renewal. I know sheet masks are great for your skin, but I've said in the past that I just never take the 20 minutes to relax and sit still to use one!
  • Did. Hair Spa Day Hair Ties ($6.50, full-sized) - This set has three hair ties with cute designs: cucumbers, "Chill Pills," and a zig zag pattern. I like these types of hair ties because they don't leave a bump in your hair.
  • Olive Natural Beauty Elixir ($18.18 for 1.01 fl oz) - A full-sized bottle of this is 2 fl oz and costs $36, so this is a great value! It's an all-natural oil that can maintain firmness, even tone, and promote cell turnover.
  • VO5 Hot Oil Therapy Treatment ($2.59, full-sized) - This tube is single-use and will detox dry, damaged, and overprocessed hair. My hair is highlighted and heat styled on a daily basis, so this will be a great way to keep it healthy.
  • Nika Facial Exfoliating Brush ($17, full-sized) - I love this brush! I actually used it before taking these photos because I was so anxious to try it, which is why it isn't fully dry in the photo above. It's super soft and removes makeup really well.
I also received a bottle of Rave Unscented Hairspray, which was not included on the info card. I'm assuming this is a bonus item? I hope it was in everyone's box!

Bottom Line: Four out of the five items this month were full-sized, and the one that wasn't was still a very high value. The bonus hairspray is a nice addition, too. I think August's box had a great variety of products to help you enjoy an at-home spa day!

July Beauty Box 5 Review

The theme for July's Beauty Box 5 is "Road Trip Ready," and it has five great products to keep you looking great wherever you're going!

*Disclaimer: This box was sent to See, Shop, Love! in exchange for an honest review.

Beauty Box 5 sends deluxe samples and full-sized items each month for only $12. Shipping is free to U.S. addresses and $3 to Canada. Like the name suggests, each box will have five products ranging from color cosmetics to skincare, and more!

This month's box had all full-sized items! I think that's the first time I've gotten one like that in the two or so years I've been receiving their boxes. They always send a good amount of full-sized items, but it was really nice to have all five of them be so this month.

  • Skinny Tan Mini Mitt ($4,95) - This is a "mitt-lette" for applying streak-free self-tanner without staining your fingers. I don't use self-tanners so I will probably pass this off to a friend who does, but it's unique and a great idea,
  • Hikari Cosmetics Eye Shadow ($13) - I received the shade "Moonlit," which is perfect for me (more photos and swatches below). It's a dark brown shimmer that will go great with my everyday neutral eye look.
  • Sweep Rose Gold Tweezers and Mirror ($14) - These tweezers are really pretty; I love rose gold. I just used them tonight and they grabbed every little hair from my eyebrows that I wanted to remove. I hate when you get tweezers and they aren't sharp enough or strong enough to get those hard-to-pluck hairs, but these were perfect! The little mirror is really cute, too (at least, I think it's a mirror--the other side is reflective).
  • Beauty Box 5 Round Blending Brush ($10) - This is a really nice brush with soft bristles. I have another BB5 blending brush from a previous box, but this one is fluffier and will provide a softer blend than the other one.
  • Chella Tantalizing Taupe Eyebrow Color Pencil ($18) - I like Chella's products a lot and this eyebrow pencil is perfect for me. It's a dark-ish brown, but it blends perfectly with my dark brown/black eyebrows. I like that the tip is super fine, too, which makes it easy to fill in my brows without looking too heavy.

Bottom Line: July's box had a total retail value of $59.95! That's such a great deal for a box that only costs $12, especially since all of the products were full-sized. I'll use the tweezers and the Chella pencil the most, and I really like the Hikari Cosmetics eyeshadow.

June Beauty Box 5 Review

Happy first day of summer! The June Beauty Box 5 is aptly themed "Made in the Shade" and features products perfect for warmer weather.

*Disclaimer: This box was sent to See, Shop, Love! in exchange for an honest review.

Beauty Box 5 is a beauty subscription that sends everything from color cosmetics, to hair care, to skin care, and more! They always have a great variety of samples and the box only costs $12 per month. Shipping is free to the U.S. and $3 to Canada.

This month's box had four full-sized items in it! I've found that Beauty Box 5 usually sends a decent amount of full-sized products.
  • Pur-Lisse Blue Lotus Treatment Sheet Mask ($8, full-sized) - I know sheet masks are all the rage but I just don't use them. I can't sit still for 20 minutes with it on my face, so I usually end up swapping these. This one improves skin texture, delivers antioxidants, and leaves you with a healthier complexion.
  • Versaspa Gradual Tanning Face Moisturizer ($4.38 for .25 oz) - This daily moisturizer blurs fine lines and gradually creates a beautiful tan. I don't use self-tanning products because I tan pretty well by just going outside (with SPF, of course), plus I'm always afraid things like this will give me uneven color.
  • Prestige Brow and Lash Brush ($3.25, full-sized) - This brush has bristles to tame unruly brows and a sturdier side for evening out eyelashes.
  • Manna Kadar Radiance Bronzer and Highlighter ($24, full-sized) - I like the convenience of this; usually I have to take my big bronzer and highlighter compacts separately but this makes it much easier. I like both shades and will be putting this to good use.
  • Sweep Oval Contour and Highlighting Brush ($15, full-sized) - This is a really interesting looking brush. It's supposed to make blending and shading really easy, but I'll have to play around with it because I'm not used to the shape.
Bottom Line: The total approximate retail value of this month's Beauty Box 5 is $54.63! Even though all of the items weren't a hit for me, I still think this is a good mix of summer products.

May Beauty Box 5 Review

The theme for May's Beauty Box 5 was "Mer-May-d" (get it, mermaid?) and had products to get you ready for summer fun in the sun!

*Disclaimer: This box was sent to See, Shop, Love! in exchange for an honest review.

Beauty Box 5 costs $12 per month, with free shipping to the U.S. and $3 to Canada. Each month you'll receive five deluxe samples (and often full-sized products) ranging from color cosmetics to hair care to skincare, and more!

This month's box had a fun assortment of products and three full-sized items.

Swatches of the Appeal Cosmetics lipstick and Elizabeth Mott eyeliner
Bottom Line: This month's box had a total approximate retail value of $61.82! The three full-sized products were all high value, and I think this box had a great variety of items that fit well with the mermaid theme!

April Beauty Box 5 Review

April's Beauty Box 5 is themed "Hydration Vacation" and has a good mix of skincare and color cosmetics. I'm always impressed by the variety of products that BB5 sends and this month was no different.

*Disclaimer: This box was sent to See, Shop, Love! in exchange for an honest review.

Beauty Box 5 costs $12 per month and ships to the U.S. and Canada. Shipping to U.S. is free and $3 for Canada. Each box will have five (sometimes six!) deluxe samples and full-sized products that can range from skincare to hair care to color cosmetics, and more!

Three out of the five products this month were full-sized and I think all of them are great for travel. I just got back from NYC and could have used the body wash, but I'm going again in June so I'll be able to put these all to good use then!
  • Chella Passionate Pink Moisturizing Lip Pencil ($18, full-sized) - I've gotten a few other Chella products from subscription boxes before and they've been great. This is a highly-pigmented red/pink pencil that I think could easily be used to blend onto your cheeks as well.
  • Soapbox Sea Minerals Body Wash ($.60 for 2 fl oz) - This has aloe vera, shea butter, and sea minerals to soothe and cleanse skin. Soapbox also donates one bar of soap to someone in need for each full-sized bottle purchased.
  • Global Beauty Care Green Tea Makeup Remover Wipes ($1.99 for 30 wipes, full-sized) - I use makeup remover wipes daily to take off my makeup after work so I'm always happy to get a new package. These also hydrate and help fight wrinkles.
  • Jelly Pong Pong Paradise Pigments ($19.95, full-sized) - I love the name "Jelly Pong Pong" and I've seen their products popping up in a lot of boxes lately. I received the shade Fig Jam, which is a bright fuschia/pink. This can be used on your lips and cheeks.
  • Maskeraide All Eyes On Me Hydrating Eye Gels ($4.89 for two gels) - These are listed in Canadian dollars on their website with a retail of $25 CAD, so converted to USD that's $19.57 for a full-sized box of four pairs of eye gels. Anyway, I love using eye gels to relax after a long day. These help de-puff your under eye area and also brighten, hydrate, and firm your skin.
Bottom Line: This month's box had an approximate total retail value of $45.43. I really like the Maskeraide eye gels and the Chella lip pencil! All of these products are great to take with you on vacation and I'll be doing just that.

March Beauty Box 5 Review

Beauty Box 5 has become one of my favorite subscription boxes because they're super affordable and always send great products! This month's box had items perfect for transitioning into spring.

*Disclaimer: This box was sent to See, Shop, Love! in exchange for an honest review.

Beauty Box 5 sends five deluxe samples and full-sized products to you for only $12 per month. Products range from color cosmetics to skincare to hair care, and more! Shipping is free to U.S. addresses and $3 to Canadian addresses.

I really liked this month's samples because there were a lot of colorful products. I find that sometimes beauty boxes send mostly skincare, but Beauty Box 5 has done a good job of sending a variety of different types of samples.
  • Personail Custom Floral Nail Polish Wraps ($12.99, full-sized) - These nail wraps are made in Australia and have pretty floral designs on them. The prints sent were assorted, so I'm curious what designs other subscribers received.
  • Mai Couture Blush & Highlighter Papers ($1.20 for four sheets) - I have been wanting to try these for a while. I've used blotting papers but never color papers. Each packet contains two papers.
  • Pur~Lisse Blue Lotus 4-in-1 Eye Adore Serum ($31.20 for .24 oz) - A full-sized tube of this is .5 oz and retails for $65! It firms, brightens, hydrates, and decreases puffiness.
  • Glamour Dolls Eyeshadow ($3.99, full-sized) - Assorted Glamour Dolls products were sent out and I received an eyeshadow duo in "Secret Weapon." The shades are a red/brown and light gold shimmer. This is the perfect little travel-sized duo!
  • Colour Me Sky Blue Fragrance - I didn't calculate the approximate value here because I don't know how many ounces are in the vial, but a full-sized bottle costs $20. This has notes of jasmine and peppery freesia and is quite floral. I'm not a fan of florals, especially freesia, but I like the packaging.
  • Beauty Box 5 Custom Temporary Tattoo - This is a fun bonus sixth item. The info card has the value listed at $2.

Bottom Line: I'm really excited to try the Mai Couture blush and highlighter papers and the Personail nail wraps! I think this box had a really good selection of samples.

February Beauty Box 5 Review

Happy 4th birthday, Beauty Box 5! I've been reviewing their boxes for quite some time now (maybe two years, maybe more?) and they get better and better with each month. February was no exception!

*Disclaimer: This box was sent to See, Shop, Love! in exchange for an honest review.

Beauty Box 5 sends five deluxe samples and full-sized products for only $12 a month! In my experience, usually at least half of items are full-sized. Shipping is free to U.S. addresses and $3 to Canadian ones.

In honor of their fourth birthday, February's box was filled with items to help you sparkle on! One item was even custom made for BB5.

  • Hemp Nation Kiwi-Mango Body Wash ($7.99 for 2 fl oz) - The info card has this listed as a full-sized item, but I think that might be a misprint. It appears that a full-sized bottle is 8 oz. Anyway, this smells delicious! Kiwi and mango are two of my favorite scents.
  • Manna Kadar Beauty 3 in 1 in Fantasy ($19, full-sized) - This is definitely a full-sized item and I love it! I've used a few other Manna Kadar products and they're good quality. The shade goes on lighter than I expected it to (see swatch photo at the end of this post), but it's a great highlighter.
  • Epic Blend Hemp Premium Lip Balm ($3.49 for .15 oz, full-sized) - I received the "Raspberry Pomegranate" flavor. I don't remember the last time I had to purchase a lip balm because I get so many from subscription boxes, but I am not complaining! This one is non-GMO, gluten-free, and made with natural ingredients.
  • Elizabeth Mott Thank Me Later Eye Shadow Primer ($9.71 for .17 oz) - I'm almost out of eye primer so I'm excited to give this one a try. It has a waterproof formula to help shadow stay all day long.
  • Starlooks Custom Lip Liner in Sultry Sangria ($16, full-sized) - BB5 teamed up with Starlooks to create this exclusive shade just for the box! It's a pretty mauve/pink that will work well with a lot of lipsticks that I have.
Bottom Line: Without accounting for the Hemp Nation body wash, this month's box had an approximate retail value of $48.20! That's an amazing deal for only $12. I can't wait to see what else Beauty Box 5 has in store for their fourth year!
