Bespoke Post: Wax Review and $20 Coupon

I hadn't purchased a Bespoke Post box in a while because, while they always have great offerings, nothing caught my eye as a "must have." That is, until the September selections came out and I saw the "Wax" box!

*Disclaimer: This box was purchased by See, Shop, Love! Post contains referral links.

Bespoke Post is a monthly lifestyle subscription that has boxes for all types of interests. Check out my feature on My Subscription Addiction here for more information on how the subscription works and why I love it!

I don't usually purchase a box every month but I do grab whatever ones pique my interest. The Wax box was perfect for me and I couldn't wait to receive it! It features the new Fill Mill system, which includes a ReFillable Candle Vessel, two candle inserts, and a wick trimmer.

Everyone who chose this box received the "Last Drink By the Bonfire" insert and could choose one more out of either "Behind the Unmarked Door," "Sunday Dinner at the Grove," or "On the Open Desert Road." Here are the scent profiles for each, taken from the Bespoke Post website:
  • Last Drink By the Bonfire: Like the last pour from the bottle before the night wanes and the fire blows out. Spiked with notes of ginger, clove, and the best of old friends.
  • Behind the Unmarked Door: Like a hidden speakeasy, marked only by the mellow scents of fresh tobacco and patchouli musk from behind the door. Carefree banter echoes inside.
  • Sunday Dinner at the Grove: Like a golden-hour meal in a lemon grove, with charred citrus in the air. The old California woods around us cast jagged shadows across the placemats.
  • On the Open Desert Road: Captures the aura of a lone desert pine along a stretch of arid earth through breezy notes of herbs and cypress.
I love the ones I received! I like warm, spicy scents and both of them fit that scent profile.

The ReFillable Candle Insert is beautiful and was available in dark gray or off-white/cream. I obviously chose the dark gray.

The vessel is made from concrete and has a textured brass knob that works with strike-anywhere matches and the lid will safely extinguish the flame once you're done burning. The inserts fit perfectly into the vessel and snap with a magnetic locking system.

It's really easy to lift the inserts out of the vessel and I like that the scents are interchangeable. I want to get the other two candles to complete the set (they sell for $15 each or for $45 as a trio).

Also included in the box is a wick trimmer, which is an obvious accessory but something I needed. Even though I have dozens of candles, I've never bought a real wick trimmer and definitely needed one. They're essential for keeping your candles in the best burning shape.

Bottom Line: I'm obsessed with candles, so the Bespoke Post "Wax" box was a no-brainer purchase for me. I love both of the scents I received and the vessel is beautiful even when a candle isn't burning inside.

Bespoke Post Black Box 2021 Review and $20 off Coupon

Every year, Bespoke Post releases a limited edition "Black Box" on Black Friday. I've never gotten one in the past but decided to grab one this year.

*Disclaimer: This box was purchased by See, Shop, Love! Post contains referral links.

The Black Box is no longer available. It is released on Black Friday and is free with a $45+ Bespoke Post shop purchase. You'll be upgraded to the Premium Box with a $90+ purchase.

I skipped my November box shipment because I knew I wanted to buy something and that the Black Friday sale would be later in the month. I got the "Destination" box and picked up the non-premium Black Box as well.

To be completely honest, I hadn't been impressed with the Black Box shipments in the past, but I figured since I already knew I wanted a Bespoke Post box this month, an extra box of things couldn't be bad, even if I ended up not liking what was inside.

I ended up being pretty pleased with the selection, though I wouldn't have paid for this box on its own. Here's what was inside:

  • KIND Bar: These two KIND Bars were bonus items. I've had them before and they're pretty good granola bars.
  • Leather & Brass Key Fob by Ezra Arthur: This is a genuine leather key chain in dark brown. I like the simple design and sturdy leather.
  • Oakmoss & Amber Room Spray by Bradley Mountain: This smells great, with essential oils of oakmoss, amber, and oud. I love Earthy scents and this one is perfect.
  • Electrolyte Vitamin Sample Pouch by Brode: These vitamins fight dehydration (and hangovers) with electrolytes.
  • Crew Socks by Unsimply Stitched: I think boxes like these always have a pair of socks, since they're an easy item to send. These are exclusive to Bespoke Post and are a comfy cotton blend.
  • Grooming Starter Kit by Tiege Hanley: This is probably the best value item in my opinion (not based on price, but usage). Even though it's branded as "uncomplicated skincare for men," I'll take any kind of skincare. This kit has a Wash, AM Moisturizer, and Hand Cream
  • $10 Off Coupon: There was also a small card with a unique coupon code for $100 of a future purchase of $75+.

Bottom Line: If you're already planning on buying individual gifts from the Bespoke Post shop and/or a club box around November, I think it's worth it to wait until the Black Friday Black Box sale. That being said, I wouldn't go out of my way to try to get this box if there isn't something you already really want from the Bespoke Post shop.

Although the Black Box is no longer available, you can still subscribe to Bespoke Post or shop one-time purchases from their shop.

Bespoke Post "Yellowstone" Review and Coupon

I only get a Bespoke Post box every once in a while when one really piques my interest, and last month I decided to choose their Yellowstone offering.

*Disclaimer: This box was purchased by See, Shop, Love! Post contains referral links.

Bespoke Post is marketed as a men's lifestyle box but I think their boxes can be enjoyed by anyone. They release a new set of curated boxes each month and you can skip any month (without being charged) if you don't like any of the options.

Bespoke Post costs $45 per month. You'll receive an email at the beginning of the month with the box that Bespoke Post has chosen for you based on your interests, but you change your selection or skip within the next five days.

I chose the Yellowstone box because the national park is high on my list of places I want to visit. I prefer a selection of a few items in a box over one or two more expensive items, so the array included in this box felt like a good value to me.

The Caswell-Massey tonic was available in three scents and I chose "Old Faithful." The other options were "Mammoth" and "Canyon," and currently only "Mammoth" is still available. The tonics were created in partnership with the Yellowstone Forever nonprofit, which helps ensure the park's ecosystem stays thriving. I love the "Old Faithful" scent, it has notes of sagebrush, sweet blue lupine, earthy larkspur, and pine smoke. It starts off smoky and develops into a complex blend that works really well with my skin.

The Brass Bison Figurine is created by Ezra Arthur and is solid brass. I currently have him hanging out on my work-from-home desk.

The Yellowstone Bandana was custom-made by illustrator Nicky Ovitt for Bespoke Post. It has Yellowstone's most memorable highlights on it, including bull elk, bald eagle, Steamboat Geyser, heartleaf arnica, wavy-leaf thistle, and more.

Last up, and the main reason I picked this box, is the photography book Yellowstone: A Land of Wild and Wonder by Christopher Cauble. It's a beautiful coffee table book with photos of the iconic landscape and fauna of the national park.

Bottom Line: I'm very happy with this box from Bespoke Post. Everything included is great quality and something I will use and enjoy.

Bespoke Post "Blue" Review and $20 Off Coupon

I've been subscribed to Bespoke Post for a while now but I don't order a box every month. Not to say that the products they feature aren't high quality, because they always are, but I usually only order when there's something I really like and know I will use. This month, the Blue box was perfect!

*Disclaimer: This box was purchased by See, Shop, Love!

Bespoke Post is targeted towards men, but I think their boxes are appropriate for all genders. They do occasionally release "For Her" boxes, too.

Boxes cost $45 per shipment and you can skip as many months in a row as you'd like. With tax and shipping to New York, my boxes come out to $52.87 (shipping is $3.95 and taxes probably only apply to NY and CA).

Bespoke Post releases new boxes with different themes each month. If you don't like any of the new releases, you can also order past boxes. So far I've ordered three: Dim (Phillips Hue smart lights), Marshmallow (pillows), and now Blue. You can read my review of the Dim box here. I didn't review Marshmallow because, well, I got lazy (the pillows are fantastic, though).

I hadn't gotten a box in a few months, so when I saw Blue was a new release for May I decided to pick one up. I'm glad I did, because this box quickly sold out.

Blue features upgraded home accessories from United By Blue, an excellent eco-friendly brand. They are a certified B-Corporation, meaning they have passed testing to prove they create ethically-sourced, sustainable goods. Their individual mission includes removing as much trash from the oceans and waterways as possible.

This box was a bit customizable. The first item is the United By Blue Enamel Mug, which I chose in the "Folk and Fauna" style. The other choice was a turquoise/green design with a camping van that says "Mountain Bound." These came in a set of two and I love them. The design is so pretty and the mug is made of pretty lightweight enamel-dipped steel, making it great for camping.

The main reason I chose this box was because of this Out-of-Doors Candle. I'm obsessed with home scent products, especially anything that's woodsy. There were four candles to choose from, and I picked Tioga Woods, a blend of "deep wood tones with cedar and sandalwood." I absolutely love it. It's hard to describe the scent, but I think it's perfect -- slightly sweet with lovely woody notes.

The candle is small (three ounces) and only has a 10 hour burn time, so I burned it about halfway down and will now use my candle warmer to keep it going for as long as possible (it's a warm base that melts the wax without needing to burn the wick. Highly recommend getting one to lengthen the life of your favorite candles!).

The other candle scents were Surf (bright, fresh aroma with notes of sea salt and ocean air), Log Cabin (warm and spice-forward with ginger root and hints of citrus), and Mountain Peak (crisp and refreshing with notes of sage and wood). Frankly, they all sound amazing I would definitely purchase them individually to have the full set.

Rounding out this box are the Stainless Steel Straws and SoftHemp Sock in Navy.

To be honest, I don't love stainless steel straws. I am all for reusable ones, I just buy ones that are made of plastic because I find the steel hurts my teeth. That being said, these are a great set of four straws with a cleaning brush included. They're made from durable, kitchen-grade stainless steel and will last for years.

The SoftHemp Socks are so soft and cozy! They're made with hemp, hence the name, which can be grown nearly anywhere and uses a fraction of the water that traditional fabrics consume. The hemp blend in the socks creates a plush feel that is also four times as durable as regular cotton. These fit men's sizes 8-12 and women's 10-13. I wear a women's 5.5, so they're big on me, but that's fine -- they'll be extra cozy when winter rolls around again.
Bottom Line: This is my favorite Bespoke Post box yet. It's the first box I've gotten that had a variety of products and I loved all of them. The assortment was well balanced and I'm glad to have learned about United By Blue.

December Bespoke Post: "Dim" Review and $20 Off Coupon

I've always been intrigued by Bespoke Post and I decided to sign up during their Black Friday sale. They're classified as a Men's subscription box, but they have great items for anyone, in my opinion.

*Disclaimer: This box was purchased by See, Shop, Love!

Bespoke Post releases a selection of boxes each month containing a variety of lifestyle items. They'll choose a box based on your interests profile that you fill out when signing up, but you can change to a different box or skip a month if you're not interested in any of the selections.

Boxes cost $45 per month with $3.95 shipping to the contiguous U.S. and $10 to Hawaii, Alaska, and Canada. All orders over $75 get free shipping. They also pay all duties for Canadian addresses, so you won't owe anything extra when you get your box.

What I love about Bespoke Post is they have so many different box options with a ton of high quality items. I'd been considering getting some smart lights for my apartment and when I saw that Bespoke Post was having a Black Friday sale, I immediately snatched up their Dim box.

The box contains a Philips Hue Bridge and two White Ambiance bulbs. The Bridge itself retails for around $60, so the fact that I was able to get that and two bulbs for only $33 with the sale price was an amazing deal! It still would have been a great deal at the regular $45 box price, too.

I was a bit surprised when I opened the box that the packaging wasn't very fancy. I mean, everything was well-protected and nothing broke in transit, but I at least expected an info sheet or something with more information about the box, considering how classy Bespoke Post seems otherwise. Instead, the box contained only the items with some paper filler to protect them during transit.

I'm so glad I got this box! I thought smart lights were kind of unnecessary for the longest time, but then my brother got some (also Philips Hue) and I changed my mind. I especially like them because I live alone and can now control the lighting with my voice, since I hooked them up to my Google Home. I can also set them on timers or to turn on during random times throughout the day, which is added security that gives me peace of mind.

These specific White Ambiance bulbs can change from a yellow to white to slight blue hue with varying brightness. I like this because a bright, white/blue light is my favorite, but sometimes I set them to a dim yellow for when I'm taking a nap or reading. There are also pre-set colors available through the Hue phone app.
Bottom Line: I think Bespoke Post is a great deal. Even though it's targeted towards men, don't be afraid to check it out if you don't identify as male. I think a lot of the box options are unisex and I'm really excited to receive more!
