Rovectin Skincare Review and Coupon

I've reviewed Rovectin before (read that review here) and am excited to share some of their new products with you!

Rovectin is a skincare brand from Korea that was created when a brother wanted to help his sister restore her damaged skin from chemotherapy. The Barrier Repair Ultra Cream was their first product, developed to combat side-effects such as extreme dryness and skin barrier deterioration from cancer treatment.

Since then, the Rovectin has become the most trusted skincare brand among patients, dermatologists, and hospitals across Korea. Their Rovectin Repair Complex uses ingredients inspired by nature to create high quality, restorative skincare. Their products are also cruelty-free and vegan.

I use the Conditioning Cleanser and Lotus Water Calming Toner during my morning routine. The cleanser has a low pH level and washes away dirt and grime without stripping skin of its protective moisture barrier. It has no artificial fragrance but there is a light coconut scent from a natural coconut oil derivative. To be honest, I don't notice the coconut scent at all when I use this.

The Lotus Water Calming Toner soothes with lotus flower extract and seven layers of hyaluronic acid and xylitol to retain moisture. This is great for all skin types. I like using toner as an extra way to balance my skin's pH level and provide soothing benefits.

The Lotus Water Cream is a gentle moisturizer that hydrates with clean ingredients and is appropriate for all skin types. Lotus water extract makes up 75 percent of its content and helps protect skin from fine dust or toxins due to its self-purifying features. It also contains kaempferol, a well-known antioxidant that restores balance and has anti-aging properties.

The Barrier Repair Face Oil is one of my favorite products from Rovectin. I have oily skin, and while one might think a face oil would be counterproductive for this skin type, it's actually one of the best products you can use. This one is made with neroli oil and squalane, which are naturally-occurring lipids that hydrate the skin. Tocopheral is a highly potent antioxidant that also helps keep skin strong from the inside-out. I especially love using this oil in the winter, as it helps keep skin feeling moisturized but not greasy.

If the plain Lotus Water Cream bottle is too boring for you, there was a pack of stickers included in the box that you can use to decorate it. I thought this was such a cute idea!

Rovectin Skin Essentials Review

My skin goes a little haywire in the winter because the air is so dry. I have oily skin that's also sensitive, so even though it's less oily in the winter it gets really irritated by the harsh winter weather. Luckily Rovectin has a wonderful line of skincare products to help keep skin fresh and nourished!

Rovectin is a derma-cosmetic brand originally from Korea that creates to help improve the quality of life for those suffering from side effects of chemotherapy, such as irritated skin. These anti-irritant products were developed at their Santa Monica, California research center in 2011 and are made without any elements that may cause skin irritation.

While these products were created to help those undergoing chemotherapy treatments, they can be used by anyone who suffers from skin problems like dry or aging skin. The Skin Essentials line contains the Barrier Repair Complex (BRC) to decrease skin moisture loss, an Asta Cell Fortifier to scavenge free radicals, and a Silky Shielding Base to deliver a high concentration of nutrients to the skin. The products are made without harsh chemical ingredients, parabens, synthetic colors and fragrances, formaldehyde-releasing preservatives, alcohol solvents, animal-sourced ingredients, comedogenic ingredients, or dioxane-containing surfactants.

The Skin Essentials line is made up of four products. I used them all for about a month and found them to be quite gentle.

The Conditioning Cleanser was the first step in my routine. It's hypoallergenic and and works to maintain the skin's hydro-lipid balance. Basically, wash the bad stuff off and keep the good stuff in to help your skin stay elasticized and moisturized. I will say that if I didn't add a moisturizer shortly after my skin did feel a little tight after using it, which was surprising to me. I didn't leave a huge amount of time in between cleansing and moisturizing, maybe a minute or two because I like to apply eye cream and let it set before moisturizer, but it was one thing I noticed that I wanted to share.

The Barrier Repair Cream Concentrate is the cream in the smaller tube (far right of the photo) and was what I used first after using the cleanser. It's a highly concentrated cream for very dry areas of the skin. I thought it might be too thick or heavy for my face, but it actually felt very light and did a good job of making my skin feel soft and nourished after using it.

I then tried using the Barrier Repair Cream on my face after cleansing, and I've also been using it on my body after I get out of the shower. It's hypoallergenic and appropriate for use on the face and body, and I found it absorbed quickly into my skin. I get dry patches on my arms and hands and this did a good job of keeping them at bay.

Last up is the Barrier Repair Face Oil. I absolutely adore using face oils; they're wonderful for both oily and dry skin. This one has nourishing squalene, plum seed extract, and neroli oil. You can add a few drops into your cream moisturizer, but I prefer to use it alone. Just two drops from the dropper were all I needed for my entire face, and it absorbed quickly and made my skin feel so soft.
Bottom Line: I had a great experience with the Rovectin Skin Essentials line. I have dry skin, especially on my body, during the winter and these products did a great job of providing long-lasting moisture!
