NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation Review

I know BB and CC creams are all the rage right now and many women prefer their light coverage over traditional foundation, but I've always been the type to want fuller coverage.  I have oily skin with patches of redness, so aside from wanting to even out my skin tone, another issue I have is finding a foundation that lasts all day without fading due to the oiliness.  I usually don't spend much on foundations, but I had seen lots of great reviews for the NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation so I decided to give it a try.

*Disclaimer: This product was purchased by See, Shop, Love!

This foundation will set you back $48 for 1 fl oz.  If you're like me and normally only spend $10 on foundation, I know that sounds like an insane price!  However, I think it's worth the splurge because I've been incredibly happy with how well it works with my skin.

I bought the shade Medium 1.5 - Vallauris, which is for medium skin with pink undertones.  I lean more towards having yellow undertones, but this matched well enough while I was sampling them at Sephora, and I also didn't want to keep swatching every single shade that I thought might fit me in store (I felt a little awkward doing so).

The selling point for the All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation, as the name suggests, is that it's supposed to provide natural-looking, weightless coverage for 16 hours.  You're also only supposed to use one drop for your entire face, meaning that 1 fl oz is going to last you a while, creating further justification for the price.  I use one and a half drops because I apply with a beautyblender instead of my fingers as suggested on the instructions, but it's still a small amount.  I haven't worn this for 16 hours straight because I use makeup remover wipes when I get home from work, but it does last decently well for 8 hours.  It also is very weightless--it doesn't feel like it's clogging up my skin at all.

The "Even Tone Technology" also works well to neutralize my redness, which is my favorite thing about this foundation.  It's made with a 4-to-1 ratio of gold and green pigments that optically manipulate how light reflects off of the skin.  All I know is that just a little bit of product covers my whole face and instantly evens out my skin tone!

Bottom Line: I love the NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation and I definitely recommend it!  I can only speak for my oily skin type, but I think it's great at evening out my skin tone and that it has good staying power.  They also have a wide range of shades to choose from (20 different ones), so you should be able to find one that matches your skin tone.  As far as price goes, it's a splurge, but well worth it in my opinion.

Have you tried the All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation?  What do you think of it?

  1. I think a good base product is essential, so it's worth the splurge if it works really well for you. You can save up on ither stuff like eyeshadow, mascara and lipsticks. But a good foundation and concealer are very important!

I posted a video tutorial today, about my day-to-night make up look!

    1. Totally agree with you there, Charline! I'll occasionally splurge on an eyeshadow palette, but for the most part I don't spend much on mascara or lip products.

  2. This looks awesome! $48 is pricey, but if it's really a perfect match for you in terms of color and texture then it seems well worth it. A lot of $10 drugstore foundations end up in the trash because they're not quite right and there's no way to test them before buying, you know?

    1. Absolutely. I think there are certainly products out there for cheaper prices that would do the trick, but if one is willing to shell out the cash for this I think they will be happy with the results! I know I have been.
