Old Factory Candles Gift Set Review and Giveaway

If there's one thing in this world that I love, it's a great-smelling candle!  I am candle obsessed.  I have drawers of them, and now they're overflowing into the closet in my hall.  I can't stop myself!  I especially love fall and winter scents, so when I learned that Old Factory Candles has a "Winter Wonderland" gift set (among many others), I couldn't wait to try it out!

Each Old Factory Candles gift set contains three scents, and each candle burns for 20 hours.  They're hand poured in the United States with natural soy wax, so they burn nice and cleanly.  I only buy candles that are made from soy, and these also have self-trimming wicks, which is really nice.

I love the packaging and branding of these candles!  The labels have a vintage look that I like a lot.  I also like the name of the brand itself -- "Old Factory" sounds like olfactory, aka of or relating to the sense of smell.  I'm not sure if this was their intent, but I'm thinking that it probably was!

I chose the "Winter Wonderland" gift set, and it was hard to choose just one to try!  I was torn between this one, "Happy Holidays," and "Fall Harvest."  The "Happy Holidays" scents were Christmas Tree, Candy Cane, and Gingerbread, and "Fall Harvest" had Pumpkin Spice, Cranberry, and Autumn Leaves.  I settled on "Winter Wonderland" because I already had a lot of candles with scents similar to the other two sets.  "Winter Wonderland" consists of Hot Cocoa, Roasted Chestnut, and First Snow.  You can view a full list of the gift sets and see what scents they boast at the end of this post.

Here's what the candles look like inside.  All of them are white, which I think fits well with the brown label.  I think if they were all different colors it would look weird, this way they're classic and can be displayed anywhere.  My favorite scent of the bunch is Hot Cocoa, but all of them are really great.

  • Hot Cocoa smells exactly the way you would expect it to smell -- rich, chocolately goodness!
  • Roasted Chestnut is hard for me to describe.  I honestly don't know what chestnuts are supposed to smell like, but given that the Hot Cocoa candle is so spot-on, this one probably is, too.  It smells to me like a mixture of nuttiness with something a bit sweet.
  • First Snow also smells amazing.  Smelling it definitely conjures up visions of a gentle snowfall.  It's crisp like pine, a bit minty, and has other notes that I can't really describe all that well, but I promise that it's wonderful!
Bottom Line: I love this Old Factory Candles gift set, and I am very interested in trying more of them!  They really do have a set for everyone--view them all below.  They are exclusively available for purchase on Amazon.
